Winter Break. This is basically me living at the library drinking tea. Yeah, normal. Wait..no. Not normal. You see, I'm kind of dead. I'm an angel. Literally. It's not always bad. You just have powers you have to maintain. When your a dark angel its worse. Your powers are used for evil and you have the worst anger issues. In Ivyport, there are no dark angels but there are guardian angels. Well she's not technically a angel, shes a heartly. The heartly's are the old angels who's wings have withered but are still strong and wise. The heartly is the librarian, Ms. Mablin. She's super nice. She's kind of my mother. My real mother is Naomi Tatum Barker. I'm Tatum Alexandra Barker. I'll let you watch my life so here we go.
The wind blew through my hair gently as I walked downtown to the public library which is huge. It begins to get colder so I pull on my heart sweater and cross my arms trying to produce a little inch of warmth walking up the steps of the library looking around. It wasn't usually this cold. Looking up at the swaying trees the wind making them all dance, it made me happy. When I walked inside I saw an unfamiliar face. It was a boy about my age with chocolate brown hair and slightly tanned skin. Obviously not from here. But definitely attractive. I turned my head to Mrs. Mablin reading The Great Gatsby for the one hundredth time. I don't blame her though, it's really amazing. But she's also motioning me to come sit with her on the brown leather couch. I nodded setting my bag behind the desk and plopped myself next to her.
"Iv'e got a bad feeling about the young man over there." she whispered quietly closing her book.
I looked over at him starring at me then whipped my head over to her.
"Why's that?" I whispered back a little confused.
"Look at what he was reading." she whispered quietly.
I looked over to him and looked down at a black leather book with one thick red stripe on it. Simaliar to the dark angels grimrore. I bit my lip looking up at Ms. Mablin who was walking over to me with a tray of tea.
"We have to know for sure though." she spoke normally sipping her tea.
I nodded adding some honey in my tea and taking a drink. After talking for a while the boy got up looking through the books on the tall shelves. I looked over at him and stood up slowly walking towards him and his head turned to me.
"Hi" I simply told him.
"I was wondering if I could see the book you were reading earlier." I asked him softly.
He held out the book and I grabbed him gently and my fingers touched his. When I felt his skin I saw a couple of flames in eyes and spark crackling.
"Thank you." I told him. "Whats your name?" I asked him before walking away.
"Tyson." he stated.
I nodded "Tatum." I faked a small smile and walked back towards Ms. Mablin who looked at me with a warm smile.
"What did you find out?" she asked me curiously pointing to the grimrore.
I flipped the book open and whispered to her "Tyson. Dark angel." Ms. Mablin huffed at the words.
I smiply smiled and pretened to look through the book still talking to Ms. Mablin and decided to give the book back to Tyson. He was sitting at the table drawing something. Tyson looked up from his drawing and took the back placing it on the chair beside him.
"Thanks." he told me. Tyson remembered he had a backpack and grabbed the book an turned around to drop the book in. I snuck a look at what he was drawing. I was slightly taken by surprise. He was drawing me. I quickly looked at him when he turned back away. He knew I saw his drawing.
"Your very beautiful." he told me tilting his head to the side slightly.
I felt my cheeks go a light shade of red. "Thank you, Tyson."
"Anytime Tatum." he replied giving me a tiny smile and went back to drawing.
I turned my back and walked to Ms. Mablin who had a stern look on her face.
"Be careful Tatum." she told me eyes locked on mine.
"What are you talking about?" I asked her innocently
"He's flirting, your playing with fire here, Tatum. Be. Careful." she said taking the tray of tea to the back.
"Okay. Fine" I sigh crossing my arms and looked over to where Tyson was sitting. He had left. I walked over to the empty seat to see a note on the chair.
'I'll see you tommorow to finish the drawing -Tx' the note made me smile and I set it in my pocket. I had a feeling I would be seeing him a lot, that scared me and me happy.
