"More blood! Stat!" the silence of the Operating room was smashed by my command.

This patient already received 30 units of blood, but his bleeding still hadn't stopped!

"Wla nang type-specific blood" the reply came.

"Nagamit na po lahat" another added.

And because of this I silently panicked, thoughts clouded my mind.

Ano nga ba ginagawa ko dito?!

1 hour earlier

I was casually walking down the hallway of the hospital when out of nowhere a few number of the hospital staff were running towards my direction.

Instinctively I made way pero on the process hinila nila ako, tumungo kami sa Emergency department kung saan naabutan namin ang paramedics na dinadala ang isang bugbog saradong pasyente.

And by the looks of it I knew he needed surgery right away. The paramedic explained that the patient was severely beaten on the head with a metal rod.

Naturally I was concerned, feeling we had to do something but I'm still inexperienced. Then I realized this man could die if I didn't do something- and something meant lobectomy (that means taking out the frontal lobe).

I clearly knew the answer- the man would die.

"Kaya mo?"

"Take him to the operating room" I told them while trying to sound confident.

As we prepared for surgery I tried visualizing what I need to do.

We finally started and everything went well but while I just finished opening up the skull the unexpected happened.

"Ano to?"

"Kinakausap kita!"

I am in trouble...

If this surgery doesn't go well my career would be in the line, after all I'm still a resident!
