The sun was a bright beautiful thing, but he was so bright and beautiful and terrible that he scorched and boiled the earth. After a week of burning the earth he realized what he was doing and crafted a mask. A beautiful mask to save the earth. It worked. Soon enough the moon joined him. The sun and the moon were originally not friends, but then slowly grew on each other, and became the best of friends. They worked together to keep the earth alive, and for this the earth was grateful, and to show their gratitude to the beautiful duo they created life. The duo loved life as if it was their own creation. Some creatures were more to sun's liking and some more to moon's, but they were all loved. All was well.

Until one day, millennia after the moon came to the earth and sun, a voice whispered to the moon. The pretty voice of a pretty bird. "He's going to leave you, you know. He'll die, or he'll break it off. Either way, he'll be gone. He'll leave you all alone. You should leave, leave before he leaves you." The moon attempted to be unaffected by the birds words but growingly felt that this was true. She did not see the birds true face, how could she, it was part of earth's blessed creations.

One day the sun made an offhanded comment, and the moon blew up at him. She called him all sorts of things, Toxic, Vile, Awful, She told him that he couldn't love anything, and if he even tried he'd just kill them. She broke him,He just didn't know it yet. He tried to object, Started to say "I didn't mean to hurt you,to me, you're everything." but he didn't even get to Didn't before she left, to explore other galaxies.

The sun was fine, but angry for the next few days. Until the scheming bird flew up to him. "You thought you'd be together forever, but even forever can't last an eternity." The sun turned to the bird, thinking it cared. "I thought I was loved." He mournfully replied. "But the earth hasn't spoken to me, and the stars have left. I don't understand, what did I do wrong?" The bird whistle."Don't worry, sun. I love you. However, the rest don't. They only love your mask." He felt his heart sinking, like a stone in a river. "They said they loved me, I guess they lied." The sun sighed. "I wonder, does her heart hurt like mine does? I will wait."

And so the sun waited, he waited for the moon, his truest friend. And waited. And waited. She didn't come back. After a year and a day, the bird returned to him. "They don't care about you. Can't you see? They haven't even tried to contact you. " The sun cried out. "What did I do wrong? Nevermind, It's easier to be a monster." He looked down at the distant earth, and the faraway stars. His friends. "I'm sorry, but I give up." And with that, he shattered his mask, dropping the shards of his into the world's below. Much to the devastation of the earth. They had been trying to reach the sun, but the bird had been preventing them. Now, they watched their friend kill himself in the most volatile of ways, and fire rained down upon the earth, even as he sun's true soul fell to a human child.

Quickly, the earth begged the Forest, the Sea, and the Darkness to save them, and the three agreed having already thought of this. They created the sky, a buffer in between the earth and the sun's corpse. Time volunteered to move the sun, to keep day and night. The four current powers of the world agreed with thanks.

While the moon wandered the galaxies, she came upon a rabbit. At first she was sad, because rabbits were one of the sun's favorite creations, however the rabbit quickly spoke up. "My dear, what is bothering you?" The moon felt it best to respond truthfully. "I miss the sun. I left him, because I thought he was going to leave me, and now he hates me I'm sure." She felt heavy regret, but the rabbit spoke up. "I'm sure he won't hate you if you just apologize. " The moon felt first, apprehension, then surety. The rabbit is right, she thought. "Thank you rabbit, I wish you well. " and she quickly made her way back home.

But, what she found was not what she had hoped. She saw her best friend's corpse, felt the shards of him around in the world's below, and felt grief so thick she couldn't think. She let out a wordless scream as she allowed the force of gravity to violently pull her being apart. Her soul gently floated to the earth, infecting a human child, as her shards fell to the earth.

Her grief was so vast that even time, snug as he was up in the sky, felt it. He immediately picked up her body alongside the suns, to keep night and day working.

And so the sun and moon killed themselves because of each other. Legend says that a hero and a heroine will someday save them, and everything will be alright.
