It was May 17, 2016, three days before the final seventh grade dance.

It was a beautiful week as the sun shined, and the tree's and flowers grew,

It was rainy all week, no sun whatsoever. But that was how Denis felt. A bolt of lightning struck down as he was unable to think. Who to chose. He loved two amazing girls. One had been with him through a whole group chat. While one always accompanied him and was an amazing talker. They both had their strengths and weakness. But he could only chose one to ask out to the dance.

" Who to chose ? " Denis asked himself. Then Brooklyn, Isabella and Kylie turned around, to stare at him.

" Why are you talking to yourself again, Denis you look like a psychopath. " Isabella said thinking about what he meant.

" He's talking about the dance. Stupid. " Kylie said as she decided to smack Isabella.

" You should take Maya to the dance. Cause DAYA FOR LIFE. <3 " Brooklyn practically screamed.

" Maybe I will. " Denis said leaving the three girls to fangirl hard.

LATER THAT DAY. JK TWENTY MINUTES LATER.

Maya was sitting alone on the stairs of the little red play structure at recess as her friends Isabella, Brooklyn and Kylie had just left her for unknown reasons. Then Denis came by and sat next to her.

" Hey, " Denis said, feeling kinda awkward about it.

" Hey " Maya replied back.

Maya looked around to see Isabella, Brooklyn and Kylie stating right behind them. Staring at them as if they were waiting for someone.

" Well... " Brooklyn asked.

" Well... what? " Maya asked.

" Don't you have to ask Maya something Denis? " Isabella asked.

" Nope. " Denis replied.

" YOU IDIOT. " Kylie screamed. She started hitting Denis's back.

" So... do you want to go to the dance with me? " Denis asked unsure if he wanted to hear the rejection.

" I mean... I guess... maybe... sure? " Maya respond with a small smile. Denis leaped up and jump around in circles as his energy was bursting. The girls were fangirling.

But one person stood far away frozen. A tear ran down her cheek, she was unsure if she wanted to believe what she saw.

" How could you Denis? " She whispered as she ran from the scene, not wanting others to see her tears. Her brown wavy hair flew to the side with the wind.

Later on that day.

At the dance, everyone was having a good time. Mara had told her self that a stupid boy would not get in her way of having fun at the dance. She danced around then a slow song came.

Denis went over to maya. He asked her if he could dance with her. With a smile nod, Denis placed his hands on Maya's waist, while Maya put her hands on his shoulders. Tony did the same with Brooklyn. Both looking awkward, as they didn't want to acknowledge the space between. While Mara stood there unbeknownst to the world, a small tear crawled its way down her cheek. Luckily it was dark inside so the tear went unnoticed.
