Toby's P.O.V

"Hey Emily...."

"Hi, is that you Toby?"

"Yeah it's me"

"Hey..how are you?"

"I'm good I guess, how are you? What brings you back to Rosewood?"

"Wait, how did you know that I was back?"

"I ran into Spencer yesterday, figured if you were back, then the gang would be here too!"

"The gang? Anyways, yeah I came back for the same reason Spence did, for Ali, and then things got a bit intense..."

"Oh"

"So what's up, I know you didn't just call me to find out why I was in Rosewood, did you?"

"Oh Emily, you know me too well!" "Yeah, you're right, I just called to ask if she was okay...I mean I met her at the
hospital-" She cut me off.

"Wait, back up a little, did you just say that she was in the hospital?"

"Yeah, didn't you know? Oh you didn't did you?"

"No"

"Well, she said that she had a small concussion, but that she was fine now, she just seemed a little bit off"

"Off?"

"Yeah, I know we're aren't really close anymore, but can you please talk to her for me?"

"Yeah sure, and Toby, we are still close like we were before, so please don't say that!"

"Okay, then I guess I'll see you around?"

"See you around!"

I felt like Spence was keeping something away from me, and with the help of Emily, I was going to get to the bottom of this.

Emily's P.O.V

The things that Toby told me really got to my head. I was really concerned about what had happened to Spencer and I had to call her. Not just for Toby's sake, but for my sake also.

*ring ring*

"Hey Em...what's up?"

She sounded a bit drowsy and sleepy.

"Well, Toby called and he said something about you being in the hospital?"

"Ahh...no, what do you mean?"

"Spence, I mean what I said...Toby said something about how you were in the hospital."

"No no, that's not true, I was in my house the whole day. I had to help my mum with her campaign and all that."

"Oh okay, well I guess I'll see you around."

"Yeah, I guess so, bye!"

And with that she ended the call.

One thing that was true was the fact that Spencer had lied to me. Spencer never lied, so something was up. I had to call Toby.

*ring ring*

"Hey Toby!"

"Hey Emily, what's up, did you talk with Spencer?"

"Yeah, that's kind of the reason why I called you."

"Okay.."

"She lied. She said that she was home all day, helping her mum with her campaign. But I know that's not true because you told me that you met her yesterday, and then I also called her house before, no-one picked up. Later Veronicas (Spencer's mum) assistant called me back and she said that Veronica was out of town for three days, and that Spencer wasn't home all day."

"Oh, but Spencer never lies, unless she has to protect someone, or she's scared"

"So what do we do?"

"Well, for starters, I have someone in my life right now, and I really like her, so I don't think I should be the one talking to Spencer. So maybe you can? You guys are really close and I don't want to ruin anything between me and my new life."

"Yeah okay, I'll talk to Spencer. And Toby, do me a favour, if you are serious about this new girl, don't call Spencer, Spence, and don't say her name like you still have feelings for her..please?"

"Ahh..."

"I don't want to sound harsh, I'm just saying this for your own good and the girls good...by the way, what's her name?"

"Yvonne Phillips."

"Yvonne Phillips, you mean the oppositions daughter?"

"Yeah"

"Oh"

"Is that a problem?"

"No, no!"

"Okay then."

I'd figured that after what Spencer told me, she would be at her house. So that's where I went.

*Knock Knock*

The door opened.
"Hey Spencer!"

"Hey Emily, what are you doing here?"

"I'm here to get things straight."
