Beats thump through my headphones,
As I'm strolling down the street,
Not actually aware of,
The fate I will soon meet.
The melody is flowing,
Souring through my veins,
My mind unaware of,
Death tying me in chains.
As I start to cross the road,
A car drives round the bend,
My eyes are unaware of the thing,
That to the afterlife, it will soon send.
It's to fast to stop,
It cannot swerve,
As i'm just standing there,
Searching for another tune,
And yet I am still unaware.
Stupid, yes, I know it's true,
But, I only found out,
About the car heading up to me,
When the driver let out a shout.
I look up but It's to late,
As all I can see,
Is a flash of red, then blinding darkness,
As Death swept over me.

This is just a warning to all you music lovers out there. Never listen to loud music when walking in the streets; the roads are dangerous enough without you adding the unnecessary distraction of blaring music.
Just like the character in the poem, they were listening to music and were unaware of the car leading them to their death; so please, if you're going walking, then perhaps turn the music to one of the lowest volumes - so remember! Stop, Look and Listen!
