Monday I went to go see X-Men Apocalypse. And in all honestly I didn't wanna see it. I thought it was gonna be stupid and boring.
NOPE
This was one of the best movies I've seen from Marvel. It had action, and conflict, and string characters OMGG IT WAS SO GOOD! Now I don't read X-Men comic books so idk how close it was to the actual story but I would think it is. The plot was good. *Bad guy has all the powers except one. Destorys the Earth while trying to get that power. Good guys band together to defeat the bad guy. The End* The characters were what really sold the movie for me. You have Professor X, Night Crawler, Mystic, Magneto, Cyclops, Beast, Jean Gray. They added some new ones also...Quicksilver, Storm, (ik they aren't really "new" but they hav them before they joined the team) Angel, Apocalypse, Psylocke. All these character put together made an amazing movie.
A couple of my favorites were Nightcrawler, Quicksilver, and Magneto. Lets do Nightcrawler first.
Nightcrawler was like Spiderman in Civil War. He was excited to be included, nervous, all over the place, talked alot...basically me as a mutant. This powers are really cool. Normally I don't think too much of teleportation but seeing him use it ti fight and help others it was just really cool to watch. Idk how I felt about the sound effect tho everytime he transported he make a whooshing sound. It wasn't annoying it was just kinda unnecessary I guess. Kodi Smith-McPhee is the person who places him and he has been in many movies including ParaNorman, Let me In, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and The Boy in the Road. He won an AACTA for best child actor. So clearly he knew what he was doing.
Quicksilver was just yes. He made the movie yes. He his personality was yes. His attitude was yes. His costumes was yes. Everything about him was yes. EXCEPT....he looked old. Like mid 30's old. Evan Peters is only 29. I think that they should has tried for younger instead of older. Again not the biggest fan of super speed bit the way they edited it made it look amazing and so much fun. My favorite scene was the explosion one and Quicksilver save the whole school (well almost...RIP Havock) but did it in a kinda comedic way that it was both entertaining and had the lowkey action that we want.
Magneto was an emotional wreck but he made it work. He wanted a normal life so he went out and found a nice job. Found a wife and had a kid. BUT NOPE!! You save a guy once and look at the thanks he gets. He would have been ok IF THE POLICE OFFICER DIDN'T SHOOT THE KID!!!! THEY ALWAYS DO THIS. EVERYTIME THE "VILLAIN" OR "ENEMY" CALMS DOWN. THEY SHOOT THEM!!!! IT IRKS ME WHEN THEY DO THIS IT REALLY DOES....anyway. So now his wife and child are dead. And what does he do in the situation. Something anyone else would do...go on a killing spree of course...no...just me....ok...anyway....he's so done with the world always pushing him down when he tries to get up. Never allowing him to live a life that he wants to live Magneto needed a lot of guidance and in the end I think he got some.
That's it foe this review. I'll be posting a theory I have soon about Magneto's daughter. In the mean time
