So things have been going smoothly for the past few weeks.

The kids are still loving school. Nothing bad has happened. The only thing is, GUN hasn't been contacting us as often as they should.

Or at all.

It's like they just fell off the face of Mobius. They're probably just really busy with trying to find Sonic. Everything is fine, (Y/n). Geez, I need to stop worrying so much.

But there is one more problem that I am worried about.

I feel like I'm being watched.

I know it's silly but I just can't shake the feeling. It's like a 24 hour thing. It makes me tense up and I hate that I can't relax.

But anyway, today is Saturday, so the kids are off from school. They made A's on their tests in school so they made Shadow promise to take them to the pizza place in town.

I actually have a major migraine so I just decided to stay home for today.

"Are you sure you'll be alright? We can stay home and go tomorrow,"Shadow said as we stood by the front door.

Maria and Haze were jumping around us, cheering about pizza.

"I'm fine, Shadow. They're too excited to not go. Take them and have a good time. Trust me, I'll be okay,"I smiled. He nodded.

I got down on my knees to the kid's level.

"Mommy, are you coming with us? You're still in your pajamas,"Maria smiled. "No. Mommy isn't feeling well so, I'll be here while you guys have fun,"I said.

"Aww, poor Mommy! We'll bring you back some pizza,"Haze said, giving me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Maria did the same.

"Alright. Be good for Daddy,"I said, standing.

"We will!"

Shadow gave me a kiss before heading out the door with the kids.

I sighed, heading into the kitchen. I looked in the medicine cabinet, searching for some pain killers.

I found a bottle and took a pill. The pill was huge as hell so I had to choke it down with some water.

After that, I sat on the kitchen cabinet with a cup of coffee in my hands and my head hung low.

Fuck, this hurts. I haven't had a migraine like this in years.

I sat my undrunken coffee on the cabinet and put my face in my hands.

"Hey."

I looked up to see Carter standing in the doorway of the kitchen. I straightened up and gave him a smile.

"Hey, Carter. Morning."

"Are you feeling okay? You don't look so good,"he said, walking over.

"I have a migraine but I'll be okay. I took some meds a while ago,"I said. He nodded and opened the fridge.

"It's pretty quiet around here. Where's Shadow and the twins?"

"Shadow took them out for pizza. You just missed them,"I said. "Aww, man. I wish I would've had the chance to tell the munchkins 'good morning',"Carter smiled.

I smiled. "You're so good with the kids. They really love you. I'm surprised because they're usually shy around other adults besides Shadow and I,"I said.

"It's just that I like kids. I want some of my own but it's hard to find the right person, you know?"

I nodded. "Yeah, but you'd be a great dad. I'm sure of it,"I smiled.
