My phone was ringing in the night stand, interrupting our morning family cuddle. I read the contact.
Matty
I hadn't talked to any of my siblings in awhile, we all have our own lives now. Matty had just completed his freshman year of college and was out for the summer. He was living in Hollywood, to afraid that he'd run into Lacee. Lacee is his first love. They were together all through middle school and Highschool. He cheated on her senior year with her best friend when he was drunk at a party. They broke up. She's engaged now, I wasn't sure to who though.
I answered the phone.
"Hey Matt. What's up?" I asked. I walked downstairs so I could privately talk to my brother.
"I have 2 big things to tell you. First, when's the last time you talked to Endy?" He asked.
"It's been about three months." I felt bad saying that. I was too focused on my own family then to remember about the one I left behind when I got pregnant with Bryson.
"Okay well her and Ian broke up. They called off the wedding. She's pregnant with his baby and doesn't know how to tell him." He said
"How do you know this? I know End didn't tell you all this."
"No, mom did."
"Shocker." Mom has always been a shit talker."I just can't believe that! She's pregnant! They already have Chyna to worry about."
Chyna was Ian and Endy's baby girl. She was almost one. That's why it's shocking that Endy is pregnant again and that they broke up.
"Why did they call it off?" I asked. "She made out with some girl."
"Typical Endy.""She's never going to get anywhere in life if she can never figure herself out." Marty sighed. I chuckled, "Shes still young, give her time."
Growing up so fast is hard. I learned that the hard way. Life doesn't give everyone a son at 16. Sometimes people don't know how to grow up.
"Aside from Endy, how are you? I feel like we haven't spoken in awhile." I said. I missed him. I missed Endy, Miry, and Rem aswell. "I'm fine. I love my new home. I just wish mom would stop coming over today."
Mom and dad had gotten a divorce. Dad realized mom wasn't what he wanted in life. She was lonely only having Miry and Remmy and not a house full of people. I understand why she wanted to visit Matty. She was all alone.
"Dad left her, give her some sympathy."
"Can you blame him?"Could I? Dad wasn't happy anymore. Matty's whole life he saw dad unhappy with everything our mother did. But Matty never saw the happy times. When Cherry and I were kids mom and dad seemed to be inseparable. Always kissing and flirting and having a great time together. Of course they fought and she'd take us on mini vacays to get away from dad for a few days, but what couple isn't like that? Matty, Miry, and Remmy never saw two people that truly cared about eachother. Hell, they'd never seen our parents show love twoards anything.
"I guess not." I replied with a sad sigh. "What was your other news?" I asked.
"Lacee is engaged." He said really fast. He was saying it so fast I barely heard him. I think he was just trying to get it over with.
"Oh my god. Matty I'm so sorry!"
"You'll never guess who it is."
"Probably not, tell me anyways." I said."Brandon."
I gasped. Brandon was with someone new? Someone almost 10 years younger than him? What the fuck?
"Brandon? Are you sure?"
"Positive. I saw it on Instagram.""Well good for her. If she wants to be with a lying, abusive, rich asshole then so be it." I scoffed.
"You're jealous." Matty chuckled. I knew he was upset about Lacee moving on, yet he found humor in me being a little pissy.
"Am not! I'm proud Brandon finally moved on like I did. I have Rushing!"
"Who is also a lying, abusive, not as rich asshole right?" Matty chuckled again.
"Shut up! Don't judge people's past."Hypocrite?"
"Whatever Matty I have to go." I said then hung up.
Brandon was engaged? This couldn't be. I was little jealous. Only because I had pictured being with Brandon forever. Marrying him, having children, living in a big house, all things that someone younger and better was going to get to experience. I never saw that with anyone else.
I walked back upstairs. I stood in the hallway for a moment because I heard Bryson and Rushing talking.
"Daddy why do you love mommy like me?" Bryson asked.
"I don't love mommy like you, it's a different love. You love her because she is your mommy, you see her as a food provider and someone to give you cuddles and kisses and always be there when you're sad or scared. You love mommy cause you know she will never let you down, right?" Rushing asked.
"Right daddy!"
"Well mommy has let me down a few times bub. That's okay since I have let her down a few times too. But when I look at her and she's smiling I get this weird feeling. A feeling I've never felt. And when I see her taking care of you and sissy I understand how great of a women she is. She puts herself aside for you, sissy, and I. That's pretty amazing isn't it?"
"Mhm." Bryson mumbled.
"I love her because she's so amazing, smart, funny, beautiful, and has given me two beautiful babies."My heart swelled. I had a wonderful guy right here! Why was I letting my old Brandon feelings get the better of me?
"I love you too." I said walking in the room.
"You heard all of that?" He asked. I nodded.
"Stop being afraid to put your heart out on your sleeve." I sat down next to him on the bed. Vienna was back to sleep again on his chest.
"You know I hate feelings." He responded."It's nice to know you love me."
"I fall more in love everyday. Just when I think I couldn't love you anymore, you smile and my heart grows two sized." He smirked. I chuckled. I leaned in and gave him a kiss."Ew." Bryson said.
"I swear if these kids weren't here is wreck you."
"Rushing shut up." I shoved hit his arm playfully. He smirked pecking my lips again.•••
