(Credits to my friend for helping with this dangerously morbid story. We each wrote one paragraph, so that's why the writing style is a bit different. Have fun wasting time! (: ~Dani)
The ash fell from the sky like burning snow leeching away any life left in the air. Helga stood under the fiery sky, staring up and catching the ash on her tongue. This would make the perfect place for a funeral. She could perfectly imagine where the gravestone would sit in the middle of the ashy ground.
Her fingers knotted themselves into Cerberus's fur. She clicked her tongue, and he sat on his haunches, ready to kill. Saliva frothed out of his mouth as he growled in anticipation of the kill to come. His eyes burned red, like two glowing embers in a fireplace. Helga shushed him, gently, as she waited for the visitor she knew would arrive. The target, Avesti, entered the graveyard as white light flashed, signaling his arrival. Helga's muscles tensed, a coiled spring covered by a mask of soft flesh.
Avesti's eyes flicked towards her, and she flinched away from his gaze, uncertain for the first time; her glamour had not worked. He raised his hands above his head in the universal sign of surrender, but his eyes were calmer than they had the right to be.
Helga looked at him suspiciously; no one could be this calm with only a few minutes to live. Her hand tensed on Cerberus's fur, and she nodded, almost un-perceptively, signaling that the three-headed dog could attack. He jumped eagerly, front paws out-stretched, and his snout formed a strange sort of smile as he landed on Avesti's chest.
Avesti sighed as though in gentle rebuke. His eyes flashed gold, and in the span of a second, Cerberus lay whimpering on the dry grass. The dog picked itself up, the three heads rearing in an effort to reach its prey. Helga gritted her teeth. She clicked her tongue, and the dog settled back, canines still bared in a growl.
Helga had made the first move, and now it was time for Avesti to attack. He raised his hands, making the storm clouds above swirl around, forming a big circle right above Helga. He brought his hands down with an almighty thrust, and a lightning bolt flew down from the clouds, striking the ground in front of Helga; more of a threat of what could happen instead of an actual attempt on her miserable life.
"Really, Helga, he said. "You always overdo things." That goddamned smile was still on his face, patronizing, as though she was a child who couldn't understand the world. Helga glared at him angrily. How did he have the nerve to talk to her like that, when he knew he was about to die? She thought.
"I don't overdo anything. You're the one who had the freaking nerve to kill Draco. I loved him!" Helga yelled out at him, clenching her fists tightly in anger.
"Considering the fact that he wanted to destroy the world, it might not have been a bad thing. Ever thought about that? So you loved him. One heart broken doesn't matter much compared to the seven billion lives he wanted to destroy," he replied, smirking slightly.
"Better those seven billion instead of Draco." She sighs, staring dazedly off into the distance.
"He loved ferrets; it could even be said that he had an obsession with them. Once, he took one apart to look at his intestines, and later made them into a necklace for me! I still have it. But because of you, he's dead." Helgas's eyes focused on him quickly and she ran forward, doing a front flip, kicking him in the chest in the process.
His mouth thinned, the smile long forgotten. "Do you really believe he cared for you? His last days in prison were spent raving about how he wanted to kill you, rip you to shreds after he'd used you up. All he wanted was Cerberus, since you were the only one who could control him, as mediocre as you developed that ability."
Helga scowled at him, her eyes ablaze with anger. "You little liar, you're just jealous that I had someone to love and love me back, while you, you have no one. Your parents are long dead, killed by the Dark Lord, so fuck off!"
Avesti sighed, a wearisome one. "if you want proof, I'll give it to you. The records are all there, every last word. All magic-proof, so you don't need to worry about a forgery."
Helga's lips curved into a sneer, and Cerberus growled, picking up on her mood. Without any warning, she lashed out with her magic, aiming at Avesti. His eyes flashed gold, and Helga could feel her life force draining away. She screamed, falling to the ground as she writhed in pain. The last thing she could see were his eyes looking at her sadly. I'm sorry, he mouthed. And then she was gone.
Draco sat in front of her. She noticed that first. The blond of his hair, the blue of his eyes. It was him as she remembered. His lips curled into a smirk. "You're dead too, then? Hope you land in hell. Too good for you, you bitch."
She glared at him, clearly not amused by his words. "Oh you should know better than most, I am hell. Though please, send me back. I need to finish what I started. I need to crush Avesti like the bothersome little fly he is." She closed her hand tightly, imitating her words.
He grinned. "And why would I do that? When you're here, no one else can use your power. Let Avesti have the world. I have this limbo we're in in the palm of my hand. Besided, I like you better here. You deserve to stay in limbo, it's even worse than hell. You don't deserve to feel the pain of fire and hate, you deserve to feel the emptiness, the lonelyness, and especially, no love." Seeing Helga's shocked expression, he continued. "Still don't get it, sweetheart? I. Hate. you. Always have and always will. And now that you're here, I can turn your worst nightmares, into reality."
Helga tried to keep the pain off her face as she realized that Avesti was right. Draco, the love of her life, hated her guts and wanted her dead. She grinned maliciously at Draco, her love dissapitating into thin air, and said, Doesn't matter. I can get to hell from here, though if I go, you're coming with me!" And with that, Helga grabbed him before he could react and apparated to the only other place she could, at the moment. The fiery pits of hell.
