"So she said no?" asked Jackson.
"Yeah. But I asked her."
"I know. Meet us at our usual place tonight. Make sure no one knows." How anonymous.
"All right."
That night I told Mom I was going to do my homework with my friends. What I didn't tell her is that I already did my homework. I met them at the usual place, near the park.
"Hey guy's," I said.
"It's about time you came," Lucas said,"We've been waiting for a while."
"Never mind that." Said Jackson,"Here."
He started passing out small packages. I got the last one. Inside was small powdery looking stuff. It looked a lot like sugar. I felt sick as I resized what it was.
They were taking drugs.
