Friend or Foe

Every single branch I snapped while walking through the trees made my heart jump. We stayed as quite as possible and walked in a line formation. The electricity room was about a half an hour walk from the storage room. We could make that, it's possible I kept telling myself. We just needed to get there without bumping into any uninvited guests. A couple more minutes pass of stumbling through the trees and the dirt then I suddenly get the strange feeling of being watched. I stop looking around at the bushes around us. "Anna are you alright, what is it?" Zach questions touching my arm to get my attention. "I'm sorry, I just feel like..." I'm cut off by my own movements looking to the right of us. "Owen, I feel like something is watching us" I say not taking my eyes off of the bushes. Owen stops looking around finally sensing it too. "Nobody move!" Owen whispers to us and I feel Zachs hand take my own as he tells me: "when I say run..you run to the waters edge and jump" he whispers these commands as he slowly pulls me behind him. Owen whispers for Claire and Gray to get behind Zach as he moves to block us all. "Owen what are you doing" I say worried by his movements. He nods to Zach and everything felt like it went at lighting speed. "Run!!" Owen yells and I feel my arm almost being pulled out of my socket and I'm Running towards the waters edge for a second time as I hear bushes rustle and 3 raptors appear in front of Owen. Blue. I notice the raptor I helped train in front of my brother as he holds his training stance. They are getting too close my brain is screaming. I yank my arm out of Zachs grip and run towards my brother as blue gets incredibly close to my brother. "ANNA NO!" Zach screams trying to come after me but being held back by Claire who is standing my the waters edge now with Zachs gun in hand ready to shoot anything that comes near her and her nephews. I get next to my brother and stand in  front of blue who was closing in. This allowed my brother to focus on the other 2 raptors. "Blue. STOP" I say sternly as she snaps her head at me. "Woah, easy girl" I say as I back
Up slowly. "Anna, I told you to run" Owen snaps at me while keeping his eyes focused on the other raptors. "Okay we are slowly going to step back towards the water ledge keep them at bay. Backing up slowly never taking out eyes off the raptors we begin to get closer and closer to Claire and the boys. Blue however stops in her tracks. Making me halt in sync. "Blue, it's me.. back down" I say as the raptor stares at me knowingly. This interaction makes the other reports stop being there attention to me and blue. "Anna back up please I've lost there attention" Owen stresses to me. I ignore his words eyes only for blue in that moment and our connection. The other raptors go to close in on me from the side as Owen tries his best to regain there attention. His gun going up in defence as he gets nervous by the situation. I move to the side so blue is also at an angle and notices the advances from the other raptors. As they get into there fighting stance ready to pounce at my blue jumps in front of me facing its fellow raptors and yells *Raptor Noises* I take this as my chance to slip over to Owen as he catches me in his arms finally breathing. While the raptors interact in what looks like blue challenging the others as there alpha to stop me and Owen are finally near the waters edge with the others eyes never leave the group of raptors. That's when we hear that deathly roar. That all to familiar sound. Blue yells at as as the others copy and they speed off into the trees. I turn and am met with a warm chest. Zach hugs me until I have to tell him I can't breathe. "Zach I'm fine I'm fine" I say pulling myself out of his death grip. There was no time for hugs as another roar sounding closer was called out over the trees. "We gotta go! Stay right by the water edge so we can jump. MOVE! The electricity room is 10 minutes that way" Owen says as he starts to sprint down the waters edge path away from the roaring. Claire and Gray follow behind in his fast pace and I give Zach one last squeeze of the hand before I pull him in the direction my brother ran. "We can celebrate not being eaten by rappers when we get to the electricity room" I say looking behind smirking at Zach as we speed to a run to catch up with my brother. He smirks back as he adjusts his gun while running responding with an out of breath "Can't wait"
