Rain fell steadily onto the gray sidewalk, creating puddles, mud, and a few strings of worms that erupted from the cracks and crevices. The sky matched the dull-gray color of the melancholy sidewalk, and seemed to make everyone walk with a hunch, either trying to cover themselves from the rain, or trying not to fall asleep from the weather.

Barry Allen walked down the street, trying to blend in to the buildings he walked passed, and put his umbrella closer to himself to guard from the rain. He was glad that work let him go early today, because it was just suppose to keep raining heavier and progressively turn into a thunderstorm. The one day his car is in the shop, the sky decides to release all of its problems and sadness to the world.

Barry bumped into someone walking towards him, and nearly fell back. He was stopped, and pulled back up to his feet.

"Sorry, I was- Hey, wanna make a deal?"

Barry looked up, his sky blue eyes meeting with forest-hazel ones.

"W-what-"

"I'll give you a piggy back ride all the way home if you share your umbrella." The stranger offered.

Barry scanned him up and down; the stranger was a little taller, much handsomer, and very kind. His smile dulled the gray color of the sky and made it look brighter; happier.

"Sounds like a deal to me," Barry smiled.

The stranger grinned, and turned around. He bent down slightly and allowed Barry to jump on his back. With little to no effort, he began to walk down the wet street with Barry holding onto his neck with one arm, and the umbrella with the other.

The rain didn't let up, and just got heavier, but the two men didn't seem to notice as their own happy bubble surrounding them grew larger and infected those around them.

"Do you do this to everyone with an umbrella?" Barry asked with a grin.

"Just the cute ones. I'm Hal, by the way," the stranger said, squeezing the backs of Barry's thighs.

"Barry," he grinned, giving Hal's shoulder a squeeze.

The two joked and told stories all the way until Barry's duplex came into view. Hal gently set Barry down and grinned.

"Thanks for the umbrella,"

"Thanks for the piggy back," Barry laughed. "Why don't you stay until the rain let's up. I can make you dinner," Barry offered.

Hal smirked, and followed Barry into the house.

"Do you do this to everyone that gives you a piggy back?" Hal teased.

"Only the cute ones," Barry teased right back.
