Beyond Compare (DANISNOTONFIRE X READER)

chapter one

You've always wanted to be a YouTuber. All of the videos you watched and all of the YouTubers you admired, inspired you to be your best. You had your heart set on being a famous YouTuber and that dream is finally coming true.  You sat in your bedroom, after buying your new tripod/camera and you clicked record. Your fame began after that first video. First 10 subscribers, then 50, then 100, then 1,000,000. And finally, after 150 videos, 7,000,00 subscribers. You were getting famous by the minute!

"(Y/N)" Shouted the beautiful Zoella. "You made it! How's your first experience at VidCon going?" Zoe asks you after wrapping her arm around you. "It's fine," You answered quietly. "Great, actually." You looked up with a smile, but something caught your eye. Well, someone. More like two people. Dan Howell and Phil Lester were across the room, having a conversation.

You couldn't hold it in. You screamed bloody murder. Everyone stared. Even Dan and Phil. People laughed, people pointed. But you didn't care. Dan and Phil were in front of you. Your idols were in front of you. The people you admired most. You felt like fainting. You felt like passing out. You felt like screaming again, but you held it in. It's not the first time you saw Dan and Phil. You Watch their videos all the time! You saw them at the pool party last month.

God. The pool party. Every time you hear those words, you can't help but cringe. Every (famous) YouTuber was there. Zoella, Louise, Alfie, Joe, Caspar, Dan, Phil, etc. You were friends with all of these YouTubers. (Except Dan and Phil of course.) You were at a waterpark when this incident happened.

"Hey, (Y/N)!" Zoe shouted, wrapping you up in a big hug. "Hey, Zoe." You sigh, giving her a weak smile. "Why are you so sad?" She asked you. "It's your birthday! Happy birthday." You turn your head and smile in embarrassment. "Thanks.." You giggle. Zoe tugged on your hand and giggled, "(Y/N)! Go on the water slide with me!" You roll your eyes and follow Zoe to the water slide.

Once you get to the water slide, you climb the ladder and race Zoe down the slide. You splash into the pool with a roar of laughter. You were finally having a good time! That was until people started to point and laugh. "What's everyone laughing at, Zoe?" You asked, tilting your head. Zoe stuttered before saying, "(Y/N), your top fell down." YOU WERE EXPOSED. Everyone saw your breasts. There was nothing you could do.

With a cry of embarrassment, you pull your top up and run out of the pool. Zoe runs after you into the bathroom. "(Y/N!) It's okay. Nobody saw." Tears fall down your face as you cry in embarrassment. "What do you mean?" You shouted. "Everybody saw! I can't go back out there!" Zoe rubbed your shoulder and sighed. "It's okay. Let's go." With a huge amount of hesitation, you follow Zoe out back to the pool. Alfie comes running over and wraps you up in a hug. "It's okay, (Y/N). We won't ever bring this up. I promise." You patted his back, "Thanks, Alfie. But it's pointless. ...See what I did there?" You, Alfie and Zoe burst into laughter. You look behind Alfie and notice Dan giving you a look of sympathy. He nods and quickly turns away to Phil.

"You sure love them boys, don't you (Y/N)?" Zoe asks, snapping you back into reality. You give a slightly embarrassed nod. "Y-yeah. Kind of." You admit. "So!" Zoe chuckles. "Do you have a crush on anyone? At all?" You look down at your feet and nod. "OMG who?!" She shouts. You look around to see if anyone is listening. You lean over to her and whisper, "Dan..."

Zoe's smile widens as she jumps up and down. "DAN?! DAN HOWELL?!" Once again, you get Dan's attenion. You turn to him and give him an embarrassed chuckle. He goes back to doing what he was doing before. "Zoe!" You shout, playfully nudging her in the rib. "Sorry, (Y/N!) I had to!" You place your head on her shoulder and pout. "He probably doesn't even know I exist." You sigh. With a mischievous snicker, Zoe says, "He talks about you all the time."

Your eyes widen with excitement. "W-what?" You ask, turning around to look at Dan. "Yeah," she said. "He talks about how he's a big fan of yours. He loves your videos. But you didn't hear it from me." Zoe kisses my cheek and walks away.

Dan Howell watches your videos. Your idol watches your video. Your CRUSH watches your videos. What, why?! Can this day get any better?!
