"Even Worse"
You see, now that his dad was dead there was nothing else to worry about because that was the source of his worries. But with the extinction of his anxiety came something far worse. Depression.
And it only got worse from there.
At his father's funeral, he saw all of his family members crying. He, however, had run his tear ducts dry. So, he just sat there in silence for the whole ceremony.
It wasn't until they put the casket in the ground that he managed to cry some more. They buried him in the hill where he and Killian always sat and looked at the sunset.
Precisely a week after that his mother had to go to the grocery store.
"Hey Killi, I have to run to the store. You and the girls are going to stay with Gramps and Mimi okay?" She asked. Their grandparents were still in town because they live all the way in Washington and they wanted to take this opportunity to visit.
Killian said nothing. But he managed to nod his head. His mom kissed his forehead and told the girls she'd be back soon."I'll be back in a minute." She told Gramps and Mimi.
"Sure thing." Said Gramps.
Then she left.
An hour went by, and Mimi said,"She must've had a lot of groceries to buy!"
Then it was two hours. Then three. So Gramps decided to call her. The phone rang four times and finally someone picked up.
"Hello? Are you the father of Mrs. Noble?" Said a voice Gramps wasn't familiar with.
"No, I'm her father-in-law. Who might this be?"
"I'm Wayde Bateman. The paramedic. You're daughter-in-law is on her way to the ER. She was in a terrible car accident. Darn drunk drivers."
Gramps gasped. "Oh no. No no no. We'll be right there. Thankyou." He hung up. "Kids! Come on get in the car."
"Where are we going Gramps?" Asked Elenore.
"The hospital sweety. Your momma got in a wreck, but it'll be okay."
Killian looked up. This can't be happening! He thought. First my dad, now my mom?! God, what did I ever do?!
He burst into silent tears. When they got to the hospital they found her laying in a bed. Weak, but able to talk. They all ran to her side except Killian. He just stared. He noticed there was no kind of casts or anything. Just pain killers and a few stitches.
"Doctor! Why doesn't she have any casts? Where's the IV?! What kind of hospital is this. You said she got into a fatal accident!!" Killian shouted.
"She did." The doctor put his hand on Killian's shoulder. "There was nothing we could do. All that useless help would just cause her more pain. After a long talk she agreed."
"Mom," he burst into tears again. "Why didn't you try? Why did you give up?"
"Killi, I fought with the doctor for a long time about this. I knew you all needed a mom. But the doctor told me I would die even if i had all of that." She paused. "Girls come here." They each took one of her hands. "Gramps and Mimi will take great care of you guys. I love you."
"We love you too mommy." They said together.Killian stepped up. "Mom I-"
"Shhh, I know sweety. I am SO sorry."
"I love you mom."
"I love you too. Always remember that God is there for you, even if no one else is okay?"
He nodded. He didn't believe that for a second.
"Thankyou." She whispered to Mimi and Gramps.
"You're welc-"
BEEEEEEEEEP
Killian cried. Again. They all did.WARNING READERS: THIS IS THE LAST DEPRESSING CHAPTER. SOME MAY BE A LITTLE SAD, BUT NOT LIKE THIS. THANKS, ENJOY READING ❤️
