Rain. It fell in crazy, chaotic droplets, the gusting wind carrying it in diagonal sheets that crashed into the surrounding buildings. It ran down his face in a thin layer, not as cold as it would be in winter later in the year, but nowhere near as warm as the summer showers from just a few weeks ago. This new flesh was still becoming accustomed to the wet weather, however he seemed to enjoy the feeling.

Up ahead, he could see a car. The bonnet was crumpled in on itself from where it had smacked the corner of the building, and the roof was covered in a dusting of dirt and debris. 'Poor people.' The man could see them now, a man and a woman, their heads resting against the dashboard and steering wheel respectively as firefighters worked on cutting them out of the vehicle. The man stared for a moment longer, taking in the surroundings of the crash before shutting his eyes.

Distance was all that mattered. Kim wasn't stopping for anything and she sure as hell wasn't taking her foot of the pedal for a little rain. Scott's eyes stayed glued to the GPS display tracking their position while the world passed in a blur of red and white lights. The hiss of the tyres over the smooth tarmac was lost under the pounding bass of their preferred get-away music. Kim leant over to turn it up. In that instant she lost the opportunity to evade a parked car with its lights off. Even if she'd been paying attention she would have been hard pressed to make the manoeuvre. As it was she barely had time to scream before the air bags knocked her back and sideways. The car spun round and round into the corner of the bank before coming to an absolute stop. Silence; it scared Kim more than the pain. Shouldn't Scott be moaning or calling out? She tried to move but she was pinned by the crushed roof and the steering column. Her neck was too fragile to move...

The man opened his eyes once again catching sight of his reflection, his glowing cobalt eyes standing out among the night-time streets. It had been a long time since he had induced a vision like the car crash, but he had to check his abilities were still in top condition in this new skin. The man noticed that the skin sagged slightly around his face. Despite being new, the flesh appeared to have a lot of life experience. He would also need a new attire. The leather jacket and skinny jeans he was currently working may have fit someone much younger than himself, however as the man now appeared to be in his mid-fifties he figured that it be best to change into more age appropriate clothes. There would be a lot to do over the next few weeks, and the man would need to get moving soon. However he hung around slightly longer, watching as the door was sliced off the car and the firefighters and paramedics worked closely together to remove Kim and Scott from the vehicle. Even from here, the man knew that Scott wasn't going to make it. Of course, at the moment the paramedics were optimistic, confident that as long as he arrived at a hospital soon Scott would survive. They didn't know that unfortunately Scott wouldn't make it to the hospital in time, but at least Kim would be fine. Maybe this would be the kick-start she needed to move away from crime, however the Man with the Blue Eyes couldn't see that far.

"Please step away from the crash site." The young red-headed detective called out as the uniformed cops set up a barrier around the crashed car. Detective Peggy Parker. The Man with the Blue Eyes smiled as he saw her. Although she didn't know him, she soon would. "That includes you, sir. Step back." She addressed him directly this time, staring into his blue eyes, however she wouldn't remember this brief exchange. Peggy moved back to her partner Detective Nick Campbell, and the pair chatted about something inaudible. Blue Eyes smiled at this, stepping back as instructed before walking down a side street, desperate to get things into motion. The light of Erinis would soon carve the path to the future.
