^Peppermint Shake
(Erabelle's POV)
Opening the door my mom came running towards me wondering where I was."I was coming back from the library when a classmate of mine ran into me and offered to walk me home," I explained.
"Well as long as your okay I'll let it pass," my mom said hugging me. "Now supper is almost ready, how about you get washed up, then supper will be waiting," my mom said pushing me up the stairs. I walked up the steps and entered my bedroom throwing my stuff on the floor. Walking into the bathroom I smelt my moms homemade dumpling soup. I washed my hands then ran down the steps towards the delicious supper.
"Hey sweetie I already got it prepared for you," my mom said smiling.
"Thanks mom," I gleefully replied. I dug into the soup filling my spoon with the broth. Taking a sip, I burnt my mouth. "Oush iss hot," I said sticking my tongue out. Waving at my tongue, my mom spoke.
"Sweetie it just came off the stove," she snickered. I laughed with her then my tongue cooled off. My mom and I finished up our soup, then cleaned up afterwards. She shooed me upstairs telling me to find something to do. I laughed and walked upstairs.
Entering my room, I dug through my desk trying to find my sketchbook. I flipped through all the papers on my desk then I finally hit my sketchbooks cover. I pulled it from my desk and found a pencil. Diving for my bed, my cat Shindā jumped onto my pillow. I patted her head and opened my sketchbook. Thinking about what to draw Shindā rubbed against my arm. An idea popped to my head and I put Shindā by the window. Nodding approvingly I started to draw on a blank page.
*2 hours later*
Finishing up on my drawing, my mom came into my room and started talking. "Hey Erabelle, so I was thinking since you start school again in two days I was thinking about making a special dinner for you and your friends. Is that ok?" My mom asked."Ya that sounds great mom. I will call Carmen and Leighton and Indy to see if they can make it. When will this "special dinner" be " I asked.
"It will be tomorrow night," she said.
"Ok perfect I will contact them tonight then," I replied.
"Ok sweetie it will be so much fun," she screamed in delight. I laughed at my mom then grabbed my phone and typed Carmen's number in. It rang and rang then Carmen picked up.
"Hey Erabelle how is it going?" He asked.
"It's going great, so I have a question for you," I replied.
"Ok, what is it?" He asked curiously.
"Would you be able to make it to a "special dinner" at my house tomorrow night?" I asked him."
"Ya I should be able to make it what time should I be there?" He asked happily.
"Probably around five should be fine," I answered.
"Ok sounds good," he said.
"Oh and could you ask Leighton and Indy if they can come to, I have to shop for tomorrow's lunch since I have to make it," I grumbled.
He laughed, "Of course I will ask them."
"Thanks Carmen I will see you tomorrow night then," I joyfully said.
"Yup see you then," he replied. I then hung up the phone and went downstairs. My mom was sitting at the counter reading a book called "Among the Hidden". I walked up to her and said I was going to the grocery store to get some stuff for tomorrow's lunch. She nodded and continued reading. I snickered and skipped to the door. Walking outside on the sidewalk the neighbor, Sarah, waves to me. I waved back and continued walking.
