The Promise

Me and my friend Chase were playing tag outside in the park.

"Come on Chase, honey we've got to go"

"Coming mama"

I walk up to the tree and carve in P+C.

" what does that stand for " Chase asked

"Penelope+Chase, this mean we will always be friends. Promise me you'll come back here in 20 years at this date and time, don't be late"

"I promise" he says as he walks towards his car.

*50 years later*

I walk up to the old tree. It seems to hold very steady even after 50 years. I look closely and notice a message on the tree next to the carving P+C.I couldn't believe it was still there.

" May I help you" This man walks up to me and asks me courageously.

" yes, do you by any chance know any body named Chase Ridge" I asked

"Why"

" Because we promised we'd meet each other here 30 years ago but I'm a bit late. I just hope he didn't forget" i notice tears falling down the man face.

"he was here 30 years ago ma'am, but he was late. He felt so bad that he couldn't keep his promise so he shot him self" know we where both bursting into tears. But it hurt me ten time worse than the poor man.

As he walks away I read the note that was left beside the carving one more time .

BANG

I decided to shot myself.

As I open my eyes, I see Chase. I run towards his arms and hug him as tight as I can.

"I promised I meet you again, and I love you too!!!"

The note comes trough my mind

"I hope you are reading this Penelope I just want u to know that I've had a crush on you ever since we were 5. You have never left my mind, even after I moved. I never got married because I felt like I would be cheating on you. I hope u feel the same way!

BTW, if you didnt get it the note said I love you, so she shot herself so she could meet him again in heaven and tell him how she feels about him.
