Chapter Ten

     I wake up and feel that someone's beside me. I look at it and find out that it was Ram. I'm a bit surprise but remember what was happen last night. I can't help but smile. He did not leave me and stay with me until I wake up.
*ring* *ring*
I heard my phone ringing. I put it besides Ram pillow. So I bend over him and get my cellphone carefully.
"Gotcha!"I murmured then answer it.
"Hello"
"Avril?" I heard the voice from the other line. I guess its a man. And it sounds so familiar but I can't remember.
"Yes its me,who's this?"
"I'm always looking after you" he said.
"Who are you?!"I snarl at him.
*call ended*
He hang up the phone and leave me puzzled.
"What's the matter?" I heard Ram talking and already awake.
"Sorry,I don't mean to wake you up. But,I receive a strange call from unknown number"I explained while looking at my phone.
"Do you ask who it was?"
"Yeah,but he didn't answer. He just say that he was always looking after me. What did he mean about that?"
"Maybe its just a prank call"
"I don't think it was. He know my name and maybe he really mean it"
"Stop worrying too much. We can figure it out soon"
I nod.
"Can I have your phone? We will try to track his number from Cody"
I hand over my phone and we go downstairs. We found Cody at the sofa watching.
"Oh hey man! What's up?"Cody greet us but still focusing his eyes on television.
"Could you help us? Track this number" Ram said then hand over the phone to Cody.
"Sure. But why?"
"Someone called Avril earlier but didn't introduce himself and say some strange things"
"Okay,wait me up. I'm gonna get my laptop"
Cody left us for awhile and get back with a laptop on his hand. Then he start to do something with my phone  in his laptop.
"Wait for a moment and...voila!"
Some information pop up on his laptop.
"You see? The one who call you is here"he pointed where it was.
"From Wooldreach?" I muttered.
"Yes! it is not that far from here.
Look at this. This is Brookland,the town were we live. And if you cross the borders you'll reach this place called Wooldreach! So,it is just next to our town" Cody explain then look at us.
"What are you plan to do?"Cody ask.
"I'll go to that place"Ram said while crossing his arms.
"I'll go with you" I said.
"So do you still need my help?"Cody ask.
"Of course,but you can stay here. I just need you to track us until we reach the place"Ram said and I saw Cody just nod.

     When we were ready we leave the place and go in the next town. It can easily be seen because the town itself has its arch and has a name on it.
"I think were here" Ram said while still driving and get in that town.
"Obviously"I muttered.
I saw him pick up his phone and dialed Cody.
*ring* *ring*

"Hello?"Cody answer from another line.
"Were here so tell us what's the exact address?"Ram said.
"Uhmmm oh-kay,#153 Retro St. Just go straight and then turn left. Got it?"
"Got it!"
He started to drive again and then there's a street sign from the left.
"Tell us when we reach the spot!"
"Aye aye Captain!"

Ram continue to drive and after a moment.
"Your finally there" Cody said.
That causes Ram to pull over the car. We get out of the car and I started to look all over the place. Its like the usual and it has a peaceful neighborhood. But,the design of this is kinda bit vintage. You know the kind of house from the old-time.
"You ready?"Ram ask while looking at me.
"Yeah" I answer.
We start to walk and stop in front of the door and Ram knock on it.
*knock* *knock*
We heard a click and it means someone inside will open the door. I prepare myself to look who it was.
"Yes?" someone said when the door finally open.
"Zach?!"I said in surprise wondering why he's here.
"Oh hey Avril! Come on get inside" he invited us to get in and I saw Ram's face.
I know he feels the same as I do.
"So tell me,what brings you here?" Zach said while sitting on his couch and give a hand gesture to say have a sit.
"Did you call me earlier?"I ask him with a serious face.
"What? No. How can I call you? I don't even know what your number is"
"Then who it is?"
"I don't know. Is there anything strange happen?"
I give out a sigh before I start to talk again.
"He says he was always looking after me and he even know my name"
"You mean its a guy?"
"Yes"
"Then what made you think it was me?"
"No I don't know that it was your place. We track the number and the address is exactly at this spot"
"Seriously,I don't know who is that and how is it possible that you track the number at my place"
"I'm sorry to bother you. We just wanted to know who is that guy behind that strange call"
"I understand,just tell me if there's anything I can do to help you"
"Thanks Zach. We'll go ahead"
"Why don't you stay here for awhile and have some coffee"
"No th--"
"Of course"
I stare at Ram when he said that. And he just give me a look and get back at Zach.
"Oh-kay,wait me here I'm gonna get some"
Zach stand up and go straight to his kitchen. I sat on the couch and saw Ram stand up and look over the place. Is he finding something? Moments pass by and Zach finally came out with a coffee in his hand. He serve it at the table and sit in the couch.
Zach notice Ram looking at his place.
"Hey Ram. What are you doing?"
Zach ask.
"I'm just checking out your lovely place. This things are antique,right?"
"Yeah"he said while sipping his coffee.
"Where did you bought this?"
"I don't have an idea that you have an interest with that old things. Well,this house is from my ancestors that passes generation to generation"
"I see" Ram came back where he was sit.
My eyes turn to something. A picture frame with a family picture in it. There is a picture that looks like Zach but this picture is obviously taken a long time ago.
"Zach it looks like you"I pointed at the picture.
"Ahh it was my grandpa. His name is Zachary"
Me eyes widened when I heard that name and the face of the family in the picture.They are all familiar.
"Zachary?"I muttered.
"Yes,that picture was taken on 1899. You know him?"
"Uhh no,maybe I heard that name somewhere"
He just nod then take a sip again.
"Uhmm Zach we'll go ahead"
"Already?"
"Yes,we've got something important to do "
"Uhh okay. I'm looking forward for a next time"
"Sure" I give out a smile and started to walk out the door. Ram was behind me.

Were in a car and still thinking about what I saw earlier.

"Are you alright?What's the matter?"Ram ask.
"I think about the picture"
"What about that?"
"I know someone named Zachary and its family"
"What do you mean?
"They are the Bedingfield family. And the one who named Zachary was my friend way back then when I was still a kid"
"Do you think that Zach was really Zachary's grandchildren?"
"I don't know. I don't heard anything about him for a long long time. We stop seeing each other when their family never show up again"
"Another puzzle piece"Ram muttered.
Ram start the engine and drive fast as he can until we reach the house.

I'm the first one who get inside and saw Cody at the couch with his laptop on his lap.
"So how was it?"Cody ask.
"No we didn't get any about that guy in that strange call but the place you've been track is Zach's place"I explain while crossing my arm.
"Seriously? How could that happen?"
"I don't know. But there is another thing we discover"
"What is it?"
"He said that he is Zachary's grandchildren"
"And who is this Zachary?"
"Old friend of mine way back then when I was a kid"
"Whoa! What a small world"
"I think it wasn't just a coincidence"I muttered.
"You think so?"
"Yes. Uhmm Cody can you get some information about Bedingfield family on 1899"
"Sure"
I just sat beside Cody and peeking at what he was doing. After a moment there's a bunch of information pop up about Bedingfield family.
"Here it is,year 1900 when there's an article about this family. They said that Mr. and Mrs. Bedingfield was found dead on their house and looks like it died losing its blood but their only child Zachary was nowhere to be found when that incident happen"
"D'you think he make his own life after this or maybe..."
"Maybe what?"
"He turns into something like me"
"What make you think by jumping into that conclusion?"
"Well look at that"I pointed at the picture were Mrs.Bedingfield lie down seeing the mark on his neck.
"It looks like a vampire's bite. And by the way they look I think there is someone sip their blood at the very last drop"
"So your saying that Zach wasn't Zachary's grandchildren?"
"Yes,because they are one!"
"That make sense"
"Maybe he know who I am when I first met him. There's a reason why he save me and I must find out"
