"People who wait get the most"
For a certaint couple this was true
~*~
'One... two.... three...' Len sighed, it was the same every night: he came here and began counting the stars until he woke up early in the morning to go back to his house. He didn't even know why he still was coming here anyways. Maybe it was because the best view was here, or maybe because he was plainly bored. Maybe...
because he had his wish written on the sakura tree here?
The soft grass under him was just like his bed at home, no, even better than his bed at home! Maybe it's because of that? Or maybe Rin's snoring? Who knows...
When he first found this place he was overjoyed. It was beautiful, it still is, he wanted to tell his friends about it, especially Miku... his crush. But then the thought of this beautiful peaceful place being ruined by his noisy classmates prevented him from saying it anyone. He also gave up on telling Miku about this beautiful place, after all, if he and she only came here, what was the fun? He already had heard a rumor that she was in love with Kaito. The hot guy from the school and he was sure that Kaito would also fall in love with that angel. Who wouldn't?
But maybe his brain had given up with telling her, but his heart certantly didn't. No, he even had written with his key in the sakura tree that he loved her with his whole heart. He hoped that one day, he would have enough courage to ask her to this place.
His eyelids started to feel heavy, was it already time to fall asleep? Even though still hadn't counted all these stars? There was nothing that could keep him awake, the gentle wind blowing in his hair was only making him more sleepier.
Until...
He felt someone sit down next to him. At first he didn't paid attention to the person, until he felt long soft hair on his hands. Only one person has this soft hair...
He immediately shot up and almost choked when he saw a girl with teal hair staring at him with a gentle smile. Her beautiful features immediately cought his attention and she let out a soft chuckle. 'Sorry, sleepyboy, did I wake you up from your sleep?' She asked in a teasing way, Len didn't know how to respond, even though they had been friends for so many years... Instead words he just shook his head slightly. He was always silent in the presense of this angel.
'You don't mind me sitting next to you right?' she asked after a long silence. No, of course he didn't mind, he always dreamed this! But who knew she would discover this place this easily? Again he shook his head shyly and Miku gave him another one of her blinding smiles. Again there was a silence, Len was gazing at the sky while giving Miku some glances from time to time. After some time he finally gathered the courage to ask her:
'Do-' Do you love? that's what he wanted to ask, but he couldn't get the words out of his mouth. Like it wasn't the time right now. He knew that he should never take action without really planning it through, so instead he asked: 'How did you find this place?' He heard that she layed down on the soft grass Len always liked laying on, putting her hands under her head, her beautiful eyes gazing at the glinstering stars. She had a dreamly smile on her face as she sighed.
'It's actually quite simple, you just have to follow your heart and the stars...' Miku said as she started to play with her long teal hair, a small blush was present on her rosy cheeks. Len noticed the moonlight shining beautifully in her face, making her wonderful features even more beautiful. Oh how he wanted to say it right now, at this beautiful moment. Len started to follow Miku's gaze, which was jumping from the one to the other star. 'Can you tell me what you really mean with that?' Len asked again, Miku's mysterious sentence made him curious what she actually meaned.
Miku chuckled, an amused expression appearing on her face, she liked to make the boy all curious about her. No, she liked him in whatever situation. Even though he is 2 years younger than him, she liked how he can amuse her in many ways. She set her gaze upon the boy's face and was examining his expression: curious, puzzled, confused and hopeful. 'I was thinking about someone I like and ended up here, while gazing at the stars' she answered, a teasing glint in her eyes. Hoping he would get the hint.
But instead the boy turned away to the stars, still not laying down on the soft grass. and gave a soft "oh". Miku felt some kind of disappointed in his voice, did he get the hint in a wrong way? A bit worried, Miku sat up to look at his face, which was lost in thought. Was he pondering about it, such a worry-wart, but at the same time, he is also so carefree. For Miku, it was hard to explain this boy's personality. There was a silence, both were looking up to the stars, waiting for the other to speak up.
Miku looked back, at the big sakura tree behind them while they gaze at the stars and the city. This was one of the only places they get to have some quiet time and Miku really liked it here, she wondered... why didn't he tell her? A soft breeze had blown some flower pedals off the tree and one landed right into Miku's left hand, the side where Len was sitting. The flower pedal was pink, a beautiful color, and in a shape of a heart. Did this mean that this was her chance? Was this the moment she was waiting for since the moment they met? But how should she start? On the inside Miku started to panick until her eyes landed on the stars in the sky and saw Len counting them.
Suddenly he speaked up: 'Hey Miku? Have you ever wondered how many stars are out there?' Miku was taken by surprise, Len didn't seem like the night person who liked to know more about space. He seemed more like the "I-wanna-play-outside-when-it's-sunny" type. She looked up again and noticed two stars shining brightly, both were close to eachother and for some reason Miku could tell the stars resembled them.
'Why don't we go count them-'
'But even scientis don't even know...'
'-together?'
Len stopped in the middle of his sentence, what did Miku mean with that? He was sure that Miku knows that the stars out there are uncountable, but for some reason she still asked that question. She asked to count them together... By the thought his head burned bright red. 'W-what do you mean?' he stutteres staring into her beautiful blue/green eyes who always held him captive.
'I'm asking if you'll stay by my side...' she answered.
Time stopped for Len and his heart was pounding in his chest, every moment his heart could just stop from all the excitement and hope. Was he dreaming? Most likely, right? 'But didn't you like Kaito?' He asked kind of awkward and Miku only gave him a smile and reached out for his face, holding it in both of her hands and whispered in his ear, gently: 'I think this should explain everything' and then
two pairs of lips collide with each other, under the mysterious moonlight.
A soft breeze blowing sofly in their hair and an owl in the background. With behind them a sakura tree where Len's greatest wish was carved in, but now there was another wish carved next to his:
'I also love Len Kagamine, - Miku Hatsune'
