It took quite a while to recover from recent events for Luke and I - although, it took me a lot longer since I was pretty much thrown into the world of demigods and monsters. I had found out that we were going to New York. He still wouldn't tell me why. One thing that he did tell me was that we would also have to stay overnight in the car (which wouldn't be the first time)

"If we're both asleep, who's going to look out for monsters?"

I turned to look at Luke and I found that he was already asleep. So I stayed up for a few hours just in case any monsters decided to attack us.

--- That Night ---

Luke and I had spent the day walking around New York. We even managed to train a little bit in an abandoned building with some swords that we had brought along for protection. After training, Luke looked exhausted so I let him have a nap whilst I kept an eye out for monsters. Once Luke had woken up, he said that we had to go over to the empire state building because that's where Percy's quest would lead them to. We hadn't seen Percy, Annabeth, or Grover anywhere but Luke seemed to know exactly where they would be.

"Okay, so you just stay in the car, I'll be back soon." Luke said as he stopped the car.

"How soon is soon? 5 minutes?" I asked, a little bit confused.

"Just stay in the car." Luke replied. Before I could stop him, he got out of the car and locked the doors. Luke mustn't have realised that I wasn't one for doing as people say - especially when I want to find out something. And I definitely wanted to find out what was going on with Luke. Yes, he has been being pretty okay, but I wanted to help him. I wanted to help Percy, Grover, and Annabeth.

I began to look around the car so see if I could find anything that would get me out of the car. Unluckily, the only thing that I could find were some country CD's and a stale packet of chips. However, I did find a packet of toothpicks. It's not much, but unlocking a car with a toothpick is worth a try.

Thirty minutes had passed and all I could see was a pitch black sky. Curiosity had gotten the better of me. A small amount of pain radiated through my elbow as I used it to smash the window before climbing out of it. Wincing slightly as small pieces of glass cut my hands, I managed to get out of the car. Surprisingly, the car alarm didn't go off; I had more things to worry about other than a car alarm though.

As soon as I got out of the car, I bolted towards the Empire State building. I knew that they were at the top of the building, and I could see that dark clouds were forming around the building. It probably wasn't the best idea for me to go to help them considering the fact that I barely knew how to use a sword except for the odd things that Luke had told me to do in training but I couldn't just stay in the car.

I took the elevator to the top of the building and hid behind the wall - I wanted to hear what everyone was saying so that I at least had an idea of what was going on. I could see Percy, Annabeth, and an older woman (possibly Percy's mom) out of the corner of my eye so I was guessing that Luke would be somewhere around here.

"Percy Jackson!" That was Luke. I was guessing that Luke was facing the wall that I was hiding behind so I decided to keep hiding, I wanted to wait and see what was going on. I could hear the faint flapping of the wings on his flying shoes so I was guessing that he was using them to get around. "Well, you weren't supposed to make it out alive. I can't let you take that bolt to Olympus." Well that was a slap in the face. He had been lying to me this whole time. Yes, I had trouble believing him in the beginning, but I didn't think that he would be trying to kill them. I thought that he was just trying to use them for something. Obviously, I was wrong. "I'm the lightning thief." It seemed like everyone and everything had gone silent as the pieces of the puzzle finally were put together.
