During the next three classes, I hadn't really talked with anyone other than Jack, Miko, and Raf, (when I had a class with them) except for some annoying boys and teachers. My mind had wandered off and I found myself sketching most of the class. After another bell rang, signaling for lunchtime, I gathered my things and followed the rest of the students down to the cafeteria.
It was crowded though it was a pretty large area, but then again, the school did have many students. Quickly, I scanned the room for Jack, Miko, or Raf, but I only spotted one out of the three: Jack.
"Hey Jack," I smiled and set my tray on the table and my bag on the floor. He looked up from his phone and smiled as well.
"Oh hey (Y/N)," he greeted and slid his phone into his pocket. "Have you seen Miko or Raf?"
"Um, well I know Miko got a lunch detention, and I think Raf stayed to finish some sort of presentation."
"Ah, should've guessed. So since we haven't really gotten to know each other that well, why don't you tell me a little bit more about yourself?" Jack asked.
"Well, uh, I'm not biologically related to my parents, they actually found me on their doorstep one night after they had gone out for dinner. This necklace, is something that I've had since then, it was wrapped around the small basket I was in..." I paused as I twirled the small jewel around my fingers.
"Oh... I'm sorry, you know, about your parents," Jack mumbled looking down.
"Don't be," I started. "If my birth parents didn't want me, then that was their decision. I'm happy with the life I'm living, and I'm sure they're happy as well," I smiled. "I just wish I got to know them..."
Jack nodded slowly and pulled out his phone as it started to ring. I took out my sketchbook and started to finish of my latest sketch while he walked a bit away as he talked to the other person on the line.
"Oh, Look who it is."
