I've never been good at making decisions, especially when it come to being quick. I could feel my heart pounding, trying to jump out of my chest, drop to the floor and run around. the stairs felt like mountains as I sprinted up them, one flight, after another. Never before has this happened. I could hear the foot steps up the stairs, I could hear the panting of someone, the growling of the raspy voice. I knew exactly what to do. I couldn't stop running until I got to the top, the attic in our rustic old house, I remembered my sister, I remember back to her accident, what happened to her. I knew that even in the worst outcome, I could be with my sister, like we once were, many years back. I saw a shadow creep up behind me, I could feel warm air up my neck. There was only one chance of survival.
I watched as the shadow raised a knife, the darkness started to overpower the rays of sunshine, it started to go dark and I could no longer see what was going on behind me without looking. As quick as a flash I ran towards the small, closed window. With one strike I smashed it open, and leapt out. I slide down the slide of a roof, until I got to the end. I grabbed onto the piping, lining our roof, I watched as a figure started climbing out of the window carefully, in attempts to follow me. He started walking down the roof, the same path I had slipped down. I shimmied as fast as I could across the piping, until I got to a patch of grass right under my feet. I let go, flew down, it was this moment I realised my mistake, and let out one last scream before hitting the grass with a thump.
