"Emma please" Hunter begged me.
"no" i replied Hunter has been bugging me to go on tour with him. We have been best friends since i was in kinder-garden ya that's right I'm best friends with Hunter Hayes, he lives next door. we live in Louisianan. Hunter has been writing and singing country music since he could talk and hes amazing at it I'm very proud of him because his dream is about to come true hes going on his first world tour.
"why not?" he asks me
" because i have school and a job i cant leave that behind Hunter, i wanna go i really do but i cant" as tears sting my eyes i try to fight them back even though Hunter has seen me cry many times before. he looks down at the ground and neither of us spoke a single word for the longest time just our emotions filled the silent air.
" I-i understand" he finally spoke not making eye contact with me.This is going and i already know it will be hard to see him go on Friday. he's truly my best friend always has and always will, hes always been there for me threw thick and thin. threw my break downs, threw my anger and i been there for him threw everything. when i was in grade 7 i got made fun of because i was friends with someone in high school. you see me and hunter is 4 years older then me and to me and him it doesn't matter but for some reason to others its the worst thing ever!
i walk the short distance between us and hug him tight. he instantly hugs me back with no hesitation.
*Friday Morning*
Friday has come to quickly. I'm sitting on a big rock beside the creek 5 mins from my house its mine and Hunters secret spot since i was 5. Hunter brought me here and showed me all the frogs and bugs which i would always freak out if he pick one up and brought it near me. i always come her with Hunter or by myself when I'm upset its the place i use to think about stuff. the funny this is pretty much every-time i come out here Hunter comes its like a sick sense he knows when im upset and when i need him. but this time i doubt hes coming hes getting packed to leave at 4:00 pm this afternoon. i watch as the birds swim in the water and the bugs buzz around the beautiful lake and forest around it. the water glisten's in the bright morning sun making it more wonderful. my thoughts get interrupted when i hear foot steps coming close. who could be out here only me and hunter know about this place.i turn around and see Hunter come out of the trees.
" Hey" he says.
"hi" i say then look back out at the water in front of me.
" what are you doing here?" he asks as he walks up and sits on the big rock beside me.
" thinking" i simply replie
" about?" he says looking from me to the water in front of us.i didn't answer him for a few mins so he turned back to look at me.
"stuff".
" I'm gonna miss you em" he says looking down at his hands.
"I'm gonna miss you too" i say and look over at him with a frown on my face "when do u leave".
"at 4" he replies
"oh" i simply say. again there was more silence between us we usually are talking non stop or joking around with each other. "um em i gotta tell u something it may ruin our friendship or make it stronger" hunter says looking at me.
"okay?" i seriously don't know what to expect. he turned and sat facing me cross leged on the rock. he played with the shoelace on his black and white convers.soon he looks back up at me in the eyesand he looked dead serious. his eyes were blueish grey there usually crystal blue.
"Emma i...um" he paused " since u and me met i have um always had a crush on you" i was speechless "i couldn't hid it any longer em im sorry if this stops us from being friends its just..." he sighs " Remember that time when you were ten and i was fourteen i told you that just so you didnt get cheated on or wouldnt have a broken heart in your life that when the time came i'd be the one to marry you just so you would get treated the way your suposed to and that we would be best friends forever till the day i died? ya I-" i cut him off
" you remember that?" once again tears sting my eyes but this time i let them fall slowly down my cheeks.
" yeah of course! i meant every word i said then and i still do" he said
again i was absuluty speachless. i looked back at the water and eveything seemed to be moving so slow. i looked back at Hunter and he frowned and looked down at his shoes again. before i could react i felt myself leaning over and i kissed his cheek. he looked up at me slightly when i pulled back. i smiled at him and he smiled back taking my hand in his and asked
"did this make us stronger or break us?".
"Hunter nothing will break us your my bestfriend and always will be and making us stronger? i dont know yet will have to see but ill tell you one thing. i have had a crush on you for a while too." i felt my cheeks grow red with heat and i knew i was blushing.
