Don't Trust Stoner Girl

The Baseball field | Ch.3

Audrey and I excitedly put on our make up. "This better be fun." I said. We were gonna meet Daniel, Sid, Jermey, Ryan and Gale at the base ball field near my house. "It will be. You get to see Sid after all." She smiled and put on some red lipstick. I blush and cover my face.

Audrey knew me so well that without even telling her, she could tell I was crushing on him.

So we head out and it was easy to spot them thanks to all the smoke in the air. Her and I calmly take a seat on the picnic table across from Daniel, Gale and Jermey who are on the other side.

Ryan bounced a baseball against the wall. I look over at Sid who is climbing up onto the roof. Jermey blows some smoke in our direction and we laugh.

Audrey and I decide that we should take them back to my house to go in the pool so she tells Daniel and he says "Move out troops!"

I lead the way to my house. We get in through the back gate and I stop everyone when I see my dad. "My dads out here." I whisper and make a face. He walks out with a beer.

Gale shakes his hand and suddenly all of the guys get in a line to shake hands with my dad. I look Audrey in the eyes and we both laugh out loud.

The night isn't super eventful, but let me just say that having 5 shirtless guys in your pool was pretty crazy. Most of Daniels friends were in relationships, which wasn't surprising because they were really good looking people.

I knew Sid is single though, but according to Jermey he was in a 6 month relationship with a crazy chick. I feel my phone buzz lightly in my pocket and open it to a message from my ex boy friend, Mike. All it says is hi. I wondered why he even bothered texting me anymore when I'm sure his new girl friend entertains him a lot better than I do. I decide to ignore the message and jump back into the pool.

I find myself looking over at Sid a lot through the night. Once its 9:00 everyone hugs me and says good bye, even Sid who barely talked to me the whole time. Audrey leaves shortly after and I start getting ready to go to bed but I get DM on Instagram from Daniel.

He tells me that Sid likes me. And that he's interested in me. It makes my stomach feel a certain way- a way that's hard to put into words.

I text him a lot the next day and when I ask him about college and stuff he replied with a few names of schools, none that I was going to though. "Oh cool" I said and he responded with "Yea babe" which makes me smile big.

I had a chance with him. I was so happy. Maybe this would work for me. I keep my fingers crossed.
