Just the Beginning

Everyone believed it was a suicide. Everyone but me. No one saw the look in her eyes when she saw her friends. No one saw the sparkle in her eyes when she woke up. No one saw her long brown hair blowing in the wind and her laugh echoing around her. No one saw the tears of sadness when she saw a homeless person on the street begging for money, then the tears of happiness as she helped the. No one saw the joy she got whenever she did even the smallest act of kindness. Everyone but me.

I know she was happy, but when they found her hanging there in her room, bloody, jagged cuts all down her arms. And the note that was neatly printed out lying on her clean desk.Everyone believed it was as suicide. But As soon as I saw her hanging there I knew something was wrong.

Her apple computer was lying on the neatly made bed, dead. Her room was to clean, all the books were on shelves. Her phone and computer screen were both cracked horribly. Everything was way to clean, Eve would have been offended. She was a naturally messy person and truthfully she enjoyed the mess that was her room. She also promised me her new phone and computer, and she tried to keep them in best shape because my family could not afford to get me a phone or a computer.

I knew she was happy. Everything just didn't fit together as it should. Her bed was never made, as she believed it was a waste of time because she would just mess it up when she went to bed again. She would always have her books stacked in piles around her bed so she could reach them easily whenever her insomnia bothered her. She also never let her computer or phone die, in cause something drastic happened when she wasn't there. Her note was printed to, something she would never do, she liked things to be more original and heartfelt, as she put it. It was also written in completely different style of writing. She also could not tie a not to save her life, or end it, and she hung herself. She was also terrified when at school they talked about hangings. She would always cover her ears and squeeze her eyes shut.

When i tried to tell what I found the police they just laughed and told me to go play detective someplace else. I was furious, I was no child. I was fifteen and not yet was not blinded my adult stupidity yet. Running my hands distressingly through my hair I caught the eye of a young police officer. He jerked his head as if wanting me to follow him, I nodded then turned to follow him out of the room. No one noticed us sneak around to the back.

"What do you want?"

"I wanted to ask you to explain your evidence again."

"First what is your name?"

"Mark.

He smiled kindly, I didn't like him much, but he was the only one who would listen to me. I paused trying to decide what to do, when I did I nodded.

"Alright, I will tell you."
After I told him, his eyes were glowing, not literally, but they shone. With happiness? I couldn't tell.

"Thank you!"
I nodded slowly.

"I had no idea I did it so messily!"
I froze, repeating what he said in my head.

"You what?"

"You heard me."
I shook my head.

"Sorry I have to go."
My heart was pounding so hard I could feel it in my throat.

"Nope, you now know. I am so very hungry! It will also be very easy to cover up! Girl murders herself after Bff dies."

He says it as if reading a Newspaper headline.

"Look I am really sorry... THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!"

He licked his lips.

"Oh yes It can be."
