"Dad, can I not go to school today?" Shima asked her father.

"Shima, c'mon, you're gonna love second grade! You're now in the oldest grade in your school! Isn't that exciting?" Shima's Dad said, trying to make school sound better. "Also, you'll get to show everyone your new outfit!" Shima was wearing a yellow top shirt with pink flowers that matched her fuzzy pink fur. She also wore blue jean shorts, and light brown boots.

"In second grade, they don't let you play Pokemon. I heard rumors during first grade! I need to level-up Pikachu! It's a matter of im...por......cants!" Shima replied. Her dad shook his head.

"Sweetie, it is pronounced Im-por-tance. You'll learn more words like that in school." Shima slumped in her chair. "Now finish your cereal quickly, or you will miss the bus." After Shima finished her cereal, she grabbed her backpack, and headed for the door.

"You're making a mistake," Shima told her father. He simply ignored the remark, kissed her head, and closed the front door behind her. Shima slowly walked over to the bus stop. She leaned against the  metal bus sign pole. Even though it was still 80 degrees out since it was still technically summer, the pole felt cold on her arm.

'Why is daddy doing this to me?' Shima thought. 'I can't go to second grade! I feel.....old....' She started glancing her head around the street, looking for the bus. 'Maybe it won't come because the driver knows school is evil!' Shima thought. As she turned her head to the right, she noticed a figure not too far from her.

"Is that..a boy?" She whispered to herself. As it got closer, she realized it was a boy. He looked about her age. In the blink of her eye, he was now standing next to her. During the past few years, no other kid live on her street. All of her friends lived on the other side of town.

The boy then turned his head to her, and began to speak. "Don't you just wanna not go to school?" He asked her. Shima was a little shocked by what he said. But then, the shock, turned into relief.

"Finally, somebody gets it," she replies. Though she was still confused about where he came from.

"Hi, I'm Hellbent," He said. Shima was then in shock again.

"Di-did you just use a bad word? We can't say those words!" Shima semi yelled. Hellbent began to laugh.

"No, I didn't mean it like that. For some reason, my parents decided to name me Hellbent. Sorry if it's rude. I can't change it." Shima began to feel awkward.

"Sorry I in....sal...ted your name. I didn't know," Shima apologized. Hellbent smiled.

"It's alright." He said. Shima began to note his looks. He had black hair, and his skin was red. Hellbent wore a black and purple t-shirt and blue jeans that looked a little baggy, but not too much so. He also wore gray and white sneakers.

Then she blurted out, "Where did you come from? I never saw you before. I don't get it." Immediately after, she wanted to take back what she said. 'I could've said it better,' she thought. Hellbent just smiled. He seemed unfazed by her remark.

"I live in that blue house down the road. Me and my family moved there a few weeks ago." Shima then remembered, around the same time, moving vans were driving down the street, in front of that same house.

"No way! I live right over here!" Shima said enthusiastically. She pointed to her red brick house. Her ecstatic behavior made Hellbent laugh again.

"I like your al-tit-tide," he said. Somehow, Shima knew he said att-i-tude wrong.

'He can't say things right, too!' she thought. The bus eventually pulled up. The yellow doors swung open, inviting Shima and Hellbent on. "Hey, Bent-... can I just call you Bent?" Shima asked.

"Call me what-over you want."

"You wanna sit with me on the bus?"

"Yes, I would like that." They then boarded the bus, and talked the whole way to school. Once they got off the bus, both of them found out they were put in the same class. That made Shima smile big.

"Yeah! High five!" Hellbent offered Shima.

As they high-fived, both of them could feel something about each other. Something, awesome.

"Hey, maybe the year won't be so bad," Shima told her new friend.

"I guess so. If we don't do multop-...multiplu..... the harder way to add." Hellbent noted. Shima laughed this time. They eventually both began laughing, and didn't stop until they reached the classroom.

This Hellma fic was requested by luckylisc.

I hope you liked it! Yeah, I could've done a story about them making out or whatever, but I've always wanted to do a Hellma fic about how they met on the first day of school. It has finally happened!
