The bell for the end of the day rings and I'm free, it's out of school and home to homework and hot chocolate, my favourite part of the day. A lot of people find me odd because I love to do homework but they have no idea why. To most people I'm just a normal 17 year old girl who goes to school, goes home and does homework. Oh with the exception of riding a motorbike. However, what they don't know is that I am a 10th generation vampire hunter who regularly tracks down vampire dens and hide outs to purposefully kill, or try to kill the vampires that live in and around Paris. Recently, the Government has finally admitted that vampires are indeed real and that they do indeed hunt and kill people on the regular. When our grandfather clock chimes for 5 o'clock I finish putting away my homework and get changed into my training leathers, get on my motorbike and head to head quarters. I arrive at Versailles at 6pm, sharp and head down the long hallways to the secret entrance where I enter HQ. "Erelia," my mother says by way of greeting, "we have a job for you. We found this vampire under the Arc de Triumph," the video feed from the holding room pops up on the large screen in front of me. "We want you to find out what he's up to, you know the drill." My mother dismisses me with a flick of her wrist, she and I have never been very close, it's my dad that has always been the one to support me, help me, love me. When I reach the holding room dad hands me the file, "go get em kiddo," he says smiling. I return his smile and walk into the holding room. When I enter the room I stand for a moment, letting this vampire see me as a confident, no nonsense type of person, I make my way over to the table that he is seated at my boots hardly making a sound on the hard floor. "Why don't we start with an introduction," I say confidently siting down at the table in the middle of the room. "What's your name?" I ask. "Tristain," he replies bluntly. "Well Tristain, what were you doing at the arc today?" The look on his face changes from steel to confusion, " I was never at the arc today," he says. I look at him not sure whether or not to believe him but I let him continue. " I came here at 5:45pm because I want to be a vampire hunter like you, like the woman who put me here and that man as well." The look on his face is earnest but I can't be totally sure, all of a sudden the door opens and my falcon flies in, I love it when my falcon is here she always knows who is lying and who is telling the truth. "Tristain, this is Cersey my falcon." I say to him, he looks over at Cersey for a while then looks back at me with an unreadable expression in his face. "So, you want to be one of us, why?" I keep my question simple so he knows I mean business. "Well," he says, "I want to destroy the people who did this to me. I never wanted to be like this but they took me and tortured me, so, I let them turn me. I just wanted to get away, I won't lie I'm still hungry I've only been like this for 4 days but I have spent every waking moment hating the ones who did this to me." His story seems to be the truth but there is only one way to find out, Cersey clicks her beak twice in my ear which means Tristain is telling the truth. "Well Tristain we would love to have you on board, but are you willing to go through the training? I must warn you it is quite gruelling." He looks up at me, a look of sheer determination on his face, "I can take it," his jaw set and his eyes blazing with pure anger at the vampires who turned him. "Well then Tristain, welcome aboard. And since it's my job to train all the new recruits you and I will become well acquainted with each other." He looks somewhat happy then he guest urges to the handcuffs still holding him to the ground. "Ah, right I will be right back with the key."
