The Beginning to an End

It was a decently hot day, for it being the middle of winter in Michigan. It was in the month of December, December 6th, 2014 to be exact. My 8th grade year, the final year of middle school. I still remember that day like it just happened yesterday, even though it was years ago.
My best friend Alice and I had a detention to serve that day. Me, being a good kid had never had an experience in that room until that day. When we walked in we sat down at two empty computers and began working on some work from school, Christmas break was approaching us and we wanted to get all of our work out of the way. And then I spotted him. He was weird, definitely cute, but weird. For some reason he really caught my attention, much more than any guy had ever done before. I couldn't keep my eyes off of him. He seemed to feel the same about me because even though I'd never talked to him in my life, he approached me, and he wouldn't stop playing with my computer, even though he had one of his own across the room.
Sadly, there wasn't much talking allowed in the 45 minutes of detention. But the second that, that time was up. I asked Alice as many questions as I could. "What's his name?", " do you know how old he was?", "does he have a girlfriend?", "what grade is he in?" She didn't know much, not even his name. All she knew was that he was in the grade below us, seventh grade. I was kind of disappointed to not even get to know his name, but kinda satisfied because Alice was the hoe type, and this boy was mine. I didn't know this now, but that was the last I would see of him for quite some time, and quite honestly, I didn't know that it'd affect me in the ways that it did.

I spent that night thinking about him. Wondering who he really was, who his friends were, what he enjoyed doing, what made him want to mess with my computer more than everybody else's? I wanted to not only know about this boy, but I wanted him, I wanted to know him. I needed to know him. I remember that night thinking that I'll see him around school or something, and I'll get my chance, but I was very wrong.
