You nodded your head slightly—to yourself.
"Can you smile for me, Haruhi?" You requested of her.
She did as you asked just as the twins and Kyoya walked up to you.
"She's perfect. This will definitely work." You announced.
You looked at the other hosts; you could tell that only the twins and Kyoya knew that she was a girl. Mori-senpai was with Honey-senpai who was eating cake and you had no idea where Tamaki was, so they didn't hear that Haruhi was a girl, making it so that you gave no spoilers.
"How can you be so sure?" The twins asked, "After all, you figured out that she was a girl so easily."
Despite the twins' concern, you knew the rest of the girls in the school wouldn't be able to figure it out.
You rolled your eyes at them. "I'm attending this school because I'm observant; I can figure things out easily."
The twins shrugged it off, then kidnapped Haruhi to talk to her elsewhere.
You realized that you had been left alone with Kyoya when you heard him mumble, "Nerd."
The direction you were facing just happened to be toward the door. You looked directly at it. Without making eye contact, you spoke to him.
"I assume you don't want me here; I'll get out of your hair as soon as I can." Your voice sounded certain and strong, as opposed to the frail and shy voice you normally spoke to him with.
You made an attempt for the door. An attempt to leave. Key word: attempt. Kyoya stopped you. He grabbed your left arm, tightly. You winced in pain; he was squeezing the bruises that he left the day prior.
"Hold up there, [l/n]." He ordered, not looking at you. In fact, his eyes were closed. "You're right that I don't want you near me; your memory is serving you well there, however..." As he spoke, his grip on your arm tightened, "If you can help increase the Host Club's profits, I am willing to tolerate your presence."
He looked at you, and the light reflected off of his glasses. "But you are to keep your distance from me while here, understood?"
If it was even possible, his grip on your arm tightened even more, he then released you.
You offered him a closed-eye smile, "I won't let you down." You beamed before leaving—rather quickly.
An idea came to you: maybe if you spent more time with him, he would come to realize that you weren't so bad and stop bullying you.
As you left the club room, Kyoya found himself admiring your retreating figure. He thought the smile you gave him was really cute, but he couldn't help but wonder...
Why would she smile at me?
