Taylor's POV:
I can't believe we're finally home. These last few weeks have been a mess for us, and so stressful. I hope things will be back to normal soon. Knowing Ed, he will wait on me hand a foot while I'm at home and out of commission. He's going to be such a great dad. The way I've seen him with Poppy so far, makes me incredibly happy. I can tell he loves her so much. And I'm so happy that she's healthy. I was worried when she came about a month and a half early, and I'm very thankful for the doctors who kept an eye on her and made sure that she was was going to be healthy and live a long happy life. I can't wait to watch her grow up and see all the wonderful things she's going to do. I hear a knock on the car door window, I must have spaced out for a second. Ed opened the door and helped me out of the backseat. I went to walk over and get Poppy out, but he told me to go ahead and go inside and he would get her. I was tired, after all. He had already unloaded all of the other things we brought home, so Poppy was the last thing. I got to the front door and I froze. What happens when we walk through those doors? Nothing will be the same as it used to. I would be much better. Finally, Ed caught up to me and we were both standing at the front door.
"Love, what's wrong? Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm great. I just wanted to wait for you to walk into our home together for the first time with our little girl. Our life is going to be much different from here on out. And it's going to be magical."
"I love you, Taylor. And I can't wait to spend the rest of my life taking care of you and Poppy and loving you both to pieces."
He leaned over and kissed me on the lips softly. Then he stroked Poppy's hair and she grabbed his finger and held it. She knows that he's her daddy. And she knows that he's going to keep her safe. I can tell. He takes my hand into his, and he opens the door. We walk inside together and are met by Meredith. We set Poppy in her car seat down on the floor and let Mere get used to her. She sniffed her for a few seconds and then started to rub her face up against Poppy's little legs. Then she looked up at Ed and I and meowed. I think she approves.
After a few minutes of that, Ed picks up Poppy out of her car seat and we walk up the stairs to her room. He walks her over to her crib and then to the rocking chair.
"This is where you'll be sleeping and this is where I will sing you to sleep every night."
He sits down in the chair and starts to rock back and forth. She was getting a little fussy, but as soon as he sat down and started rocking and singing to her, she was quiet, and soon asleep. He placed her in her crib carefully, turned the monitor on and kissed her on her forehead.
"I love you baby girl. So much."
I walked over and kissed her on her forehead as well, and stroked her hair. She looked so peaceful when she slept. Her little breaths were so quiet, I was almost scared. But I watched her little tummy move up and down, and I was reassured that she was indeed breathing. Ed and I walked out of her room and down to ours. It was just a room over from Poppy's, and we had a monitor in our room, so we could hear when she woke up or if she started crying. Ed walked into our bathroom and started to fill up the tub.
"What are you doing, baby?"
"I'm drawing you a bubble bath. And I'm going to join you. We need a few moments to enjoy each other."
"What about Poppy? What if she wakes up?"
"Love, calm down, she'll be fine. We have a monitor right over there and we will hear her if she wakes up. Everything will be alright."
Soon the tub was full of bubbles and water. I walked in and started to undress myself, but then I felt hands on my waist trying to stop me.
"Love, let me do this. I haven't gotten to do it in a while and I miss it. You just relax and I'll take care of you."
I raise my arms up and she slips my shirt off over my head. I feel kisses all the way down my back. That feels so good. So normal. Then he gets in front of me and slips my pants down and I step out of them. He puts his arms around me and his hands on my back. He moves his face close to mine, and then lays a passionate kiss on my lips. I kiss back, with just as much passion. Then he unclips my bra and throws it to the floor. He moves his lips away from mine, and down my neck and down my stomach. He slips my panties off, and kisses every part of my scar from the C-section. He's gentle, because the scar still hurts a bit. Then he picks me up and sets me down in the bathtub. The water is warm, just how I like it. He quickly sheds all of his clothing and steps in to join me. He positions himself behind me, so that my back and head rest up against his chest. He wraps his arms around me so that his hands land on my scar. We sit there and just take in the moment and enjoy ourselves. Next thing I know, he’s kissing my neck and collarbone.
“I love you so much, Taylor. You’re my everything. I don’t know what I would be doing if I hadn’t of met you. I definitely wouldn’t be this happy. I wouldn’t have a baby girl to dote on. And I wouldn’t have such a beautiful fiance. I’m glad I don’t have to wonder what I would be doing without you.”
“I’m glad you don’t have to either.”
I turned around to face him, and I took his face into my hands. I ran my fingers through his hair and just looked into his eyes. He has the most beautiful eyes.
“Ed, you’re perfect to me. You’re perfect for me. I can’t imagine life without you. You gave me the most beautiful thing in the world. You continue to give everyday. I would be lost without you.”
He leaned in towards me and our lips met.
'Cause all I know is we said "Hello", and your eyes look like coming home. All I know is a simple name, Everything has changed. All I know is you held the door, you'll be mine and I'll be yours. All I know since yesterday is everything has changed.
