7:15 am, Front of Phoenix Drop Elementary.

Melody was very excited. Her class was having a field trip to the aquarium. On top of that, her group was made up of eight people, all really nice people. It was Levin, Kyle, Alexis, The twins Jensen and David, two girls named Kendra and Lilith, and of course, Melody. Their chaperone was Alexis's Dad, Dale.

"I can't wait for the school bus to get here!" Alexis said excitedly.

"W-what's the school bus?" Melody asked curiously.

"It's what we're riding in to the aquarium! Look! Here they come now!" Alexis pointed to three yellow buses that pulled into the school. She took Melody's hand. "Come on!" She giggled.

They all boarded the school bus, Melody sat with Alexis, and Levin sat with Kyle. Several kids sang strange songs Melody hadn't heard before. Alexis groaned.

"We're not toddlers! Stop singing those songs!" She grumbled.

"Lighten up. At least they aren't singing the wheels on the bus song."

"Shh! Don't Jinx it!"

Too late, the whole vehicle began singing the song. Alexis moaned and covered her ears. Melody giggled.

"You're silly!"

"That's why I'm Pinkie Cake!" Melody laughed out loud.

The rest of the way to the aquarium was filled with singing and lively chatter. When they arrived, they filed out of the bus.

"Thank you!" Melody waved at the driver. He nodded his hat to her with a smile. Then she whisked around and skipped over to her group. The Aquarium was very fun, she loved just looking at the puffer fish they had. It would smile at her and she would smile back. It made her feel an uttermost peace.

"Heloo? Knock knock, Melody! Hey snap outta it!" Alexis pulled Melody out of her mesmerizing trance. "You okay? You've been looking at that fish for twenty minutes!"

"I have?"

"Yes, come on, the group's way ahead of us!" Alexis took her hand hurriedly and ran towards the group. Melody squirmed out of her grasp in panic, being reminded of every time she had been grasped like that.

"L-let go, p-please!" Melody finally broke free, shaking, holding her wrist and gasping.

"Melody? What's wrong?" Alexis gasped. "Did I hurt you? Oh my Irene, I'm so sorry!"

Melody took a deep breath, trying to calm down.

"N-No, nothing like that, it just, scared me, how you took hold of my hand, that's all," She shook her self and smiled weakly at Alexis. "I'm f-fine, r-really."

"Well well!" A girl with a high pitched voice pitched in behind Melody, making her jump. "Oh, did I scare you too? I'm sorry, not!" The girl scoffed. "Wow, not only are you stupid, you're a wussy cat too! Gonna go cry to your new Mommy? I heard you got adopted!"

"I don't have a Mom! Adopted or Real! My Papa is all I need!" Melody fired back, as Aunt Katelyn had taught her.

"Hey, leave her alone, Harper, go pick on someone else!" Alexis joined in.

"Stay out of this, red-head wierdo!" Harper snapped back.

"Don't call her a wierdo!" Melody defended her friend.

"Why not, Wierdo?"

"B-Because she's not wierd!"

"How do you know, ya newbie?"

"I, I," Melody couldn't find any evidence to back up her claim. Tears started in her eyes

"Huh! Thought so-"

"Seriously, Harper? Again?" Levin's voice sounded from a little far off.

"L-Levin?" Melody turned around to see him. He looked shocked when she was crying and came over.

"This is the last straw, Harper. I won't let you bully my friends any longer!"

"Levin?" Melody asked quietly, looking slightly up at him. However, he stared down Harper until she had left to be with the other group.

"Are you two alright?" Levin came around to face us, his eyes filled with worry.

"Well, I'm still a little annoyed, but I think I'll be okay." Alexis nods.

"Good, good. Melody?" When he turned to ask her how she was coping. Melody's tears were starting to leak. "M-Melody? Oh no, Melody, what did Harper tell you?"

"S-She told me, to go cry to my, my mom, b-but, I don't," Melody sniffled. "h-have a mom anymore... S-She died s-several years ago, a-and-" Melody's upsetness was worsening.

"Shh, hey," Levin and Alexis pulled her into a hug.

"I-I'm s-s-sorry..."

"Don't be, Melody. We're here for you," Alexis assured.

"Alexis is right, Melody. You have nothing to apologize for." Levin confirmed.

"T-Thank y-you..." Melody sniffled, calming down and drying her tears. "I'm o-okay now, I, I t-think." Alexis and Levin pulled from the hug, giving her comforting smiles.

"You sure?"

"Mmm-hmm,"

"Positive?'

"Yes,"

"I dunno, you don't sound like it." Levin pretended to think by putting his hand on his chin then grinned at Melody. Then he whispered something to Alexis, she grinned as well.

"Shhirk! Alpha 1 I am requesting back up, we've got an upset Melody on the loose." Alexis pretended. It made Melody giggle a bit.

"Shhirk! This is Alpha 1 sending back up, over!" Levin replied, scooting over to Melody and linking his arm with his. "Shhirk! Upset Melody has been caught, Over!"

"Shhirk! Mission Accomplished! Over!"

"Not quite yet, Officer! This is a type 1 emergency! Upset Melody hasn't evolved yet. We must help it!" Levin said triumphantly.

"Yes, Sir! Proceeding without caution!" Alexis leaped at Melody, arms out stretched to tickle her. Melody began giggling again, and when Levin joined in she was beaming and howling with laughter.

"Stop! Okay okay, Upset Melody has evolved!" Melody assured them.

"Mission accomplished!" Alexis and Levin high-fived each other then gave Melody a quick hug.

"Thanks you guys," Melody told them with a smile.

"We're your friends, Melody, and that's what friends are for!" Alexis explained.

"Now let's get going, it's almost lunchtime and I'm starving!" Levin exclaimed.

"You're always hungry Levin," Alexis chuckled.

"All the more reason to hurry! Come on! I'll race you!" Levin challenged.

"You're on!"

"Three, two, one, GO!" The three then raced off to join the rest of the group, laughing along the way. Melody felt all the worries she had wash away as she raced alongside her friends.
