Observations

I open my eyes slowly looking around the concrete cell. Riley was next to me looking at the picture our mother gave of herself and our father...the family we will never see again.
"Shayla? Are you up?" Riley says poking my side. The only noise I could manage out was a raspy, "Yea.."
Riley grabbed my hand and squeezed it, "In a few months we'll be 16...that means the observations will be over and we will never see each other again..." Riley sighed and stood up, "Don't bother looking for food though...they skipped everyone today to see if one of us will freak out." I got up and walked over to the sink and brushed my teeth.
"Riley, do you think that maybe we can see our parents again?"
"Only one of us...one of us will be in Angelic and the other Villainous." That was a factor I forgot about, even after all of the interrogations, beatings, and torture...one of us is evil the other is nice and we are sent to different territories so that we won't cause trouble on the other territory.

"Rise and shine twins!" Chief yelled. His name was Chief Todd but we were instructed only to refer to him as Chief.
"I need the following, "Ash Wincox, Bea Parks, Tristan Ketner, Riley and Shayla Adkins, and Forrest Kinaforgener."
I furrowed my eyebrows, and tapped Riley on her shoulder, "That's only one twin from each of them except us..." I think Riley already caught that and she shushed me and proceeded to walk towards Chief. He pulled us into a different room where the lights were dim.
"First I need Forrest Kinaforgener." Chief boomed. Forrest stepped up, she was shaking.
"Please take a seat Forrest." Chief instructed. Forrest sat hastily and looked at Chief, "Okay everyone else please move towards the hallway, this one is private-a one on one." Everyone hesitated but then we eventually flooded out of the room.
"Riley, what do you think they are doing?" I asked worried.
"I dunno but I'm pretty sure it's not good."
"Nothing is ever good when Chief says it's a one on one..." I mumbled, but still audible for Riley to hear.

~15 minutes later~

The door swung open and Forrest ran out with her hands over her face, her auburn hair tussled.
"Shayla Adkins." Chief roared. My eyes widened 'Crap' I got up out of my chair and walked into the door briefly looking back at Riley who looked equally horrified as me. Chief closed the door and sat me in a chair in front of a monitor.
"Okay. Today I'm gonna show you a little slideshow! " he clapped his hands together and looked intently in my eyes, "Any questions?"
"Why both of us?" I sternly say.
"Excuse me?"
"You only called for one of the twins from each cell but you called both me and Riley, why?"
"That's classified."
"Just like my parents whereabouts!" I pound my fists into the desk in front of me.
"I don't have time for your foolish questions!" He grabbed his pen and wrote down a few notes. He then grabs the remote and turns on the screen. There was a little girl with a bunny in her arms and a bright green background. Chief stared at my facial expression and took notes then pressed the next button. This one was different, the girl and the bunny was there but there was blood covering the demonic looking child and bunny. Behind the girl there were  skeletons and people with shredded skin. I tried not to falter my facial expression.
These photos went on for another 10 minutes then he logged out of the presentation and got on a different one titled, Traitors. He skipped around a few pictures then he showed me something I was anxious to see my whole life...but not like I wanted it.
