5 months ago my life changed, then 3 months after, it changed again. Not all stories are meant to be told, some are too painful. So I'll just talk about the slightly less painful one...

-2 months ago-

I don't remember spring, or summer, or autumn, only that when winter came, it woke me with a snowball to my face. Numbness spread through me like fire through petrol. I closed my eyes. When I opened them, laughter replaced the normal silence I heard. The numbness had gone as quickly as it came; now my face felt ice cold and wet.

I stood up and got my bag. I walked across the playground, quietly passing the giggling girls and the boys who were showing off to each other. I had got to the bathroom without being seen. As I pushed open the rotting door, the smell of sewage filled my nose. One minute and I would be out. Instantly opening my bag, I got a tissue and started mopping my face. My face was sugar pink from the embarrassment and ice.

The door was pushed open again, making a large squeaking sound. Amélie walked in. Amélie wasn't like the other girls, she wasn't constantly giggling, or gossiping, she was shy. She blushed when she saw me staring at her.

"Hi." She said walking to the mirror next to me, distracted, she started smoothing down her dark brown hair. Her hair went down to her waist, unlike mine, which was chin length and wavy. My face was going back to its usual porcelain self, when the door flew open. Several girls walked in, their hairbrushes and makeup already out of their handbags.

"Ooh, are you alright Vie, your face was bright red after that ice hit your face, though I thought vampires couldn't blush." said one of the girls with mock sympathy in her voice. The other girls squealed with laughter. I marched to the door, elbowing them out of the way; I kicked the door open as Amélie stepped on the other girl's shoes.

I then started walking back to the fence, where my notebook with my favourite phrases of poem's and books were, when several things happened at once; A dozen snowballs hit our backs, people started to laugh, Amélie turned on the spot to shout at the girls who just did it, she slipped on some ice, she slammed her head to the ground with a cracking sound, there was more laughter, the snow turned crimson, I screamed, the laughter stopped, silence.

I got to the ground; tears sprang to my eyes with the amount of blood that was already there. Amélie looked like she was about to slip out of consciences when, a voice spoke to me then, it wasn't hers, this voice was more hoarse;

"Your future that is oh so near,

Has changed once more and become quite clear,

In what you lose, you will gain something more,

Revenge will be sweet, you'll be ever so sure,

And some ties will be tighter than ever befoooorre..." Amélie's eyes went blank, she was far paler than usual and was out cold. It was a second before my brain started working again.

"SOMEONE CALL AN AMBULANCE AND TEACHER NOW!!!!!" I shrieked, getting tissues out of my bag and trying to put a bit of pressure onto Amélie's cut on her head. A teacher came and ushered me out of the way. I was screaming for Amélie when someone hugged me and pulled me away from the crowd I opened my eyes and saw Ruben. Ruben was a bit like me, he didn't make friends easily. He had dark skin and small afro. He was as tall as Amélie which made me look small.
