"Natalie? Babe wake up," Konnor shook me gently, awakening me from my slumber. It's the first time in weeks since I've slept peacefully, and part of me wishes it would've lasted longer.
"Whaaaaaat?" I groaned, and opened my eyes to see him laying next to me. He was wearing an ironed pearl snap and nice jeans. Where was he going tonight?
"How long have you been home?" I asked, "why do you look so nice?"
"I've been home for about 30 minutes. And I look nice because, my parents are keeping Karsyn for the weekend. We're going out tonight then we'll spend the rest of the weekend, just me and you."
I processed his information. Date tonight? No baby for the weekend?
"Wait, so we won't have Karsyn until Sunday?"
"Yep. They're keeping her since my mom is off work tomorrow. I went ahead and took tomorrow off, as well, and I wasn't going to tell you because I know you wouldn't agree. But I wanted to spend time with you. So, anything you want to do this weekend?"
"Well..." I thought for a second. "What I want to do, and what I should do are two different things."
"What do you mean?"
"My mom came by today after I dropped Karsyn off at your parents' house. She said my dad had gotten in an 18 wheeler wreck in West Texas and he's not doing too well. They transported him to Arlington but he's not stable enough to be transported any further. I know I need to go and visit him but I'm just...I don't know if I can handle it," I sighed as a silent tear rolled down my cheek. "And she said she was going to ask my Aunt Beth if she'll keep Lee while my mom stays in Arlington with him, and I offered for him to stay with us, but she had texted me about an hour ago saying Beth was going to watch him, so I don't know what to do."
He stared at me for a moment, and suddenly he smiled.
"What?" I asked, drying up my tears and pouting face.
"Get up and get dressed. And I think you should wear that silver dress my mom gave you. We'll go out tonight and figure everything out tomorrow. Okay?"
"Alright," I said, as Konnor kissed my forehead. I got out of my cocoon and walked to the bathroom to get ready. I wondered what he had in mind for us tonight.

We had a nice dinner at my favorite restaurant; Olive Garden. It started out like all the dates we had once we found out I was pregnant and we got back together. Part of that was on me, though, because I always seemed to be hungry. Eating for two had its cons.
Once we finished our meal, we paid and got back in his truck. "Well that was a nice date," I said, and he only looked over at me to smile. "It's not over yet."
"What?"
"We still have a few more stops, and the night is still young."
"Okay," I drawled confusedly. "So where to now?"
"That's a surprise."
"But you know I hate surprises."
"I know. That's why I do it."
I sighed and laid back in my seat, closing my eyes until we arrived at the next stop.
"Why are we at the race track? It's closed."
"Because," he smiled sweetly, "we're having a blast from the past."
"Blast from the past? Really, Konnor?" I looked at him, and he chuckled at me as he grabbed my hand and pulled me to the entering gate. It was locked, of course, but that wasn't going to stop Konnor.
