Dirty Little Secret

Chapter 3

   The last few days of summer went by fast. I mainly unpacked, went places with Maddie, and tried to get everything ready for the first day. I'm looking forward to school starting and going to all my classes. They're mainly art and literature based classes which I love. The only class I'm dreading is gym.

    "Hey are you going to the pep rally tonight?"

    "They have pep rallies?"

    "Oh yeah! I hear they're really fun, you have to go!"

    "Eh, I don't know. Tomorrow's the first day of school and I need to-" She threw a maroon colored crop top and a black circle skirt at me.

    "What is this for?" Does she really expect me to wear this? I can't pull this off at all.

    "You're going and you're wearing that. I will help you with your hair and make up!" She sounds way too excited than she should be. 

    After a rough hour of getting my skin ripped bare, hair pulling, and a lot of disagreement, she's finally done. I slip on the outfit she gave me and my black vans. It took me awhile to get her to agree to them, but she gave in.

    "Damn Kat, you look smokin'."

    I wonder if she's right. I step in front of the mirror and take a good look at the girl I see in the mirror. It's not me, she's so different, but I love it. After thanking her a million times, we leave to go to the pep assembly. To me, they were never really fun in high school, lets hope college ones are different.

There's more people than I expected to see here.

    "Hey babe." A guy says into Maddie's ear and gives her a kiss. She never told me she had a boyfriend. Wait..is he her boyfriend?

    "Kat, this is my boyfriend, Niall."

    "Hi, it's very nice to meet you. She's told me all about you." I can't help but blush. The more I look at them, the more perfect they look together. I wish I could find someone like that..Snap out of it Kat.

    I wonder around and try to mingle with people but it isn't going very well. I turn around and run straight into someone, of course. My drink goes everywhere and soaks my shirt, well Maddie's shirt. She's going to be pissed.

    "Woah I am so sorry, I didn't see you there." The boy says.

    "Yeah well next time you better watch where you're going! You ruined my-" I stop myself. I just noticed I'm yelling even though it's not just his fault. "Sorry, it's my fault, I should've watched where I was going."

    He just looks at me and starts giggling. I can't tell if he's drunk or is making fun of me. Either way I don't want to deal with it so I turn on my heel to go. He swiftly grabs my arm and pulls me back.

    "Where are ya going, missy? Follow me."

    He pulls me with him and I hesitantly follow him into the sea of people.
