I sighed rubbing my fingers against my temples. Midterm finals I couldn't stand these things no madder how hard I study for these tests some things just slip out of my brain the minute I look at the page. Grumbling under my breath I moved my bangs out of my eyes circling another answer. Looking at the clock I smirked I had a lot of time to spare and I was almost completely done only two more questions. Grinning I was about to circle my final answer when I heard a cackle over the intercom disrupting my concentration. "Will Marinette Dupain-Cheng please report to the principle's office please," the voice boomed making me inwardly cringe. Quickly circling my last answer I handed over my test to the teacher who gave me a suspicious look before ushering me out the door. I could feel the stares boring into the back of my head as I quickly scurried out the door and down the long hallways to get through the maze to find the office. Looking around I sighed in defeat I had never had to go to the principle's office before, so I'm not going to lie I had no idea where I was even going.
I knocked on one of the nearest doors smiling politely when the teacher opened the door; "Hello I have a question could you point me to the principle's office please?" Giving me the directions I nodded in thanks looking both ways before taking off in a run. Arriving just outside the office doors I took a big breath to calm my breathing before entering the giant room wow why was this room so much bigger than the rest of the rooms in this school?
"Aw Marinette glad to see you will you come in and sit down," A middle aged man smiled pointing to one of those uncomfortable cheap chairs that made you feel uneasy. Sitting down on the very edge I let my mind wander to every possibility to why I could be here right now. "Marinette? Marinette, Marinette," the principle said giving me an eyebrow raise since he caught me spacing out oops.
"Yes sorry, I am a little disoriented because of finals you know the stress those things come with," I laughed nervously while he gave me an approving nod.
"So she cares about grades quite a bit we love students who put in the effort to do well in academics," a harsh voice from behind me spoke up making me jump slightly in my seat, but not enough for anyone to notice. Turning around in my chair my eyes met an old man walking towards me with a stern look on her face.
"Hello," I questioned more than actually answered this guy was kind of scary I was not afraid to admit that.
"Well, I would like to introduce you to Mr. Fu the principle for Miraculous Academy one of the most prestigious academies in the country. Shaking the old man's hand I gave the principle a questioning look I had no idea what was going on here.
"Marinette Dupain-Cheng you are the brightest student in your year, and you far surpass even some of the students in the classes above. Miraculous Academy prides young minds like yours, so I would like to offer you the chance to become a student of Miraculous Academy to further your knowledge." I had to use all of my will not to just let my jaw fall open at Mr. Fu's words. Nodding my head yes I gained a smile from the old man and a pat on the back from my principle. "Good I have already talked with your parents, and since you have agreed you start in your new school on Monday."
With that, I was ushered out of the room by an assistant rudely, and left standing outside the door gaping at the offer. The final bell rang for school to be over snapping me out of my thoughts heading to my class to grab my things. When I entered my advanced French class my teacher smiled handing back my test, "Congratulations Marinette getting a perfect grade on your test once again, and for getting a scholarship into Miraculous Academy. Nodding my head I headed out the door heading to my locker to clean out the very few things that I actually kept in my locker. "Monday huh I guess it's a good thing I always keep my texts books in my locker. Making a couple quick stops to drop off those books to every teacher that needed them back I finally walked out of the building feeling exhausted. The weather was not co-operating with me today, and my hair was making my neck sweaty. Taking them out of my signature twin tails I tied my hair in a quick bun starting to walk home. As I was walking a slight scowl crossed over my face I knew about Miraculous academics and that was really the only reasoned I wanted to join that stuck up rich school. I had heard that the students there were stuck up and super rich, and if you weren't one of them then you were an immediate outcast. Don't get me wrong I am not poor, but I would never be able to afford to go to that school anyway. Opening the shop door I took in a large breath smelling the freshly baked smell of bread. Heading up to my room I headed straight for the shower I needed some relaxation after that grueling day of my final tests for midterms. Stepping into the shower I let the warm water take all my stress away leaving me pretty content for the rest of my shower. Once I got to my room I took out a simple black tank top with white pajama pants imprinted with snowflakes. Shivering slightly I closed my cracked window before starting to towel dry my hair. Leaving my hair down I stepped over to my sketchbook sighing happily at my latest design. Sitting down I looked at the design going over the many swatches of fabric I could use to make it look its best.
