Wasted time

This book was a waste of time
Unless you like scary stories that suck at scaring people

It was a normal day at the library, where the two brother Christopher and Jason who had just bought their monthly book for reading over the summer. They only had a 3 month summer so what was the big deal they thought? After they bought their books they decided to head back home. They wanted to make it home before the storm caught them in their tracks. Unluckily for them they stayed inside the library a bit too long. It was raining cats and dogs ( I know, I wish it would literally rain furry and adorable animals too ) . The winds were strong and lightning repeatedly flashed in big bright sparks across the sky, once in a while seeming to strike the ground too. They immediately hoped onto their bikes and started to ride home as quick as they could ( I would have stayed in the library.) Sadly they got lost in their tracks, the downpour and thick fog was to hard to get through. ( Especially if your little brother is so negative) Little Jason was so negative, he thought they would never get through the storm in time for dinner. It was so hard to see that both Chris and Jason ride into a deep muddy slump in the hill falling in to cold gooey mud. ( Bad day wouldn't you say ) Immediately hoping for shelter nearby Chris began to search for shelter. Nothing around but icky mud and his negative brother who was having a for about how his favorite T- shirt was now soggy and covered in mud. But a quick spark of lighting got him up to his feet. Chris was worried and lost, his brother wasn't much help neither was the fog. Have rain doing any good for them either ( bet you wish you brought your phone don't you Chris? ) In the faint distance there was a scratchy evil laugh, yet sorry at the same time. What could possibly be going on? Surely they wouldn't want to stick around to find out. With Jason following behind him Chris started to walk through the the thick fog searching for help or someplace to go.As the sound of loud thunder boomed through the darkness and thick fog, with the strange voice following behind it. Who or what could possibly be making that noise? Just then , the sound of approaching footsteps started to boom through the fog. Something was coming, and it was coming fast. As lightning flashed and crackled across the sky, once again the laughter started up again. Jason didn't seem to notice anything but his muddy clothes.
( now that's just sad ) Dragging Jason along with him Christopher started to run through the misty fog, sounding as fast as those footsteps approaching them getting closer and closer. Ignoring every creepy sound that boomed through the land and fog they were running through but the horrifying laughter that followed behind the footsteps, just then all the fog started to disappear. Into the distance, there was a tall figure dressed in black and a metallic shade of purple. With a blink of an eye it suddenly disappeared as quickly as the fading mist and fog. It wasn't raining as hard, just drizzling now. Just then when Christopher looked around he realized that he was in the same muddy puddle from when him and Jason fell. ( guess he let his imagination get the best of him ) the only thing that was real was Jason having a little kiddie temper tantrum on the ground about his muddy T-shirt. Suspiciously also the footprints leading away from the mud pile they were in. Of course Chris wasn't going to let his nightmare become reality. Chris and angry Jason started to march back up the muddy and slippery slope as the sound of thunder still boomed but it was faint. Once Chris and Jason arrived back home dinner was on the table for them, cold. not a trace of anybody in the hose. Expect for muddy shoe prints. They looked exactly like the ones in the slope they fell in before. ( here we go again )

In my next story will Christopher find out what happened to his parents and who's footprints are those?
