The ceiling glowed a milky green color. Galaxies of stars and planets and comets were plastered onto the ceiling, casting an eerie glow in the almost pitch-dark room. The blanket was on top of me, and it was suffocating. I threw it off. I got cold. I tossed and turned. I listened to music.
Then sleep came, finally. The last time I had looked at the alarm clock before sleep overcame me, it had read 3:27 AM.
Dreams always came to me easily, even when I was awake. That night I dreamt of a whole other world. It was much better than mine until I saw its flaws. I forced myself to wake up, but nothing worked. Creatures stalked me around this new world. The sky was a sickly purplish yellow color.
Suddenly, I felt as if the whole world was falling. I shot up in bed, the blankets thrown off, the sheets and my legs in a tangled mess. Cold sweat beaded down my face. The clock now read 4:27 AM. I only got an hour of sleep that night.
I jumped out of bed and made my way slowly out of the room towards the room next to mine. The faint beeping sound coming from the room made me wish I was still asleep. I opened the door slowly, and my mother lay in bed, an IV stuck in her arm.
I carried out the daily deeds of caring for a comatose mother that my idiot dad never did.
It was time to go to school. Yay.
The sun was barely above the horizon as I set out towards school. My father was sitting on the floor of the living-room in a drunken stupor. Hopefully Nurse Karen would be her before "Father" sobered up.
School used to be a safe haven from the pains of home, but the past year, it seemed that everything started to go downhill. I kept my grades up, but people made fun of me. The locker room was the worse. My whole life is just this big clichè, that continuously gets bigger everyday.
Class went by, I only had two epidoes throughout the day, and luckily they were both in classes with people that didnt think I was a complete freak.
By the time I got home Nurse Karen had left, and so did Father. My mother slept alone as usual in her comatose state as my father sat around bars picking up woman to have sex with them in the living room, not even caring if I hear, and he's always getting drunk off his assho-. I'll stop.
My mother looked worse as usual, and no signs that she'll ever wake up. I went to my room to lay in bed until I finally would fall asleep.
The stars seemed to glow brighter than before. The clockface seemed to be brighter than before. The room seemed to be brighter than before.
Then the world fell.
A loud roaring noise filled the room and my mind. Dust fell from the ceiling. The stars and planets were falling to the ground. I ran into Mom's room. The bed was empty. No signs that a comatose patient ever even lived in this room.
I ran out and ran through the house looking in every room. I ran for the door, and even Father was missing. I ran ouside to see the world on fire.
