Josh, Abby, Ash, Fatima and I were sitting at the dining table, snacking on ice-cream. Josh had already inhaled three bowls and was asking for his fourth.
"You're going to get sick Josh, so no," Fatima denied his weak attempts.
"Please, please, I'll do anything. I'll even set Will and you up on a date, that way you could have a chance with your crush and I could get my crush, aka ice-cream." Josh bribed.
At that statement, Fatima's cheeks colored. She'd had a crush on Will for quite a while now, though she still refused to admit it whenever I mentioned it. Abby stifled a giggle and I coughed trying to conceal my laughter.
"Real subtle you two, real subtle," Fatima eyed us accusingly.
What saved us was the doorbell.
"I'll get it!" I shouted and raced out of the room.
Standing behind the door was Will.
"Hi Will," I exclaimed, trying to mask my shock with enthusiasm. I think I went a bit overboard though with the whole bouncing up and down thing.
"Hey Emily ," he smirked, "I'm here to pick up Josh and Abby."
"Sure, come in," I welcomed him.
When we reached the dining room, Josh saw his older brother and began whining.
"Will, you said I could the stay the night tonight," Josh complained.
"Yea, well change of plans buddy. I'm here to pick you and Abby because Ellena is busy, besides I owe her," Will stated.
Oh great, even Will knew Ellena and he talked about her like they were old friends or something. Seemed like I was a little behind these days , how did everyone know Ellena?
After a lot of groaning and arguing from Josh, they finally settled on taking Ash with them, so he could sleep over at their house. Once they had left, Fatima began bothering me with questions about Aidan, which I completely ignored.
We ended up watching Captain America, Civil War, my favorite superhero movie. It was slightly confusing at first to understand the kind of world they were showing. I mean I was used to just the two cities, of the Darks and the Blessed, in the one country, here they were showing America a country with FIFTY states! I believe these types of movies , ones set in fantastical worlds, were called dystopian. I thought it was amazing how the technology today could conjure up something like this.
"I'm home!" Someone shouted from the kitchen.
"Yasmin!" Fatima shrieked, "You scared the living daylights out of us." She glared at her older sister, who was coming into the lounge, smiling lazily.
"Hello Emily," she said, ignoring the disdainful looks Fatima was shooting her. I greeted her back. After we had explained about Ash sleeping over at Josh's, Yasmin left to cook up some dinner. She was good, at cooking I mean.
I pelted question after question at Fatima about Ellena. I learnt that they had met through Will, who was Ellena's next-door-neighbor. Ellena didn't go to our school, she went to the other school, there was two schools in the city. To be honest, there was no difference in them, they were just situated at different sides of the city, to make it easier for the students. Will lived at the center of the city, so it made sense for him and Ellena to go to different schools. Aidan also went to the other school, he didn't used to but since our fight he transferred schools, along with Michael and Africa.
------------
The next morning, I woke to the twittering of birds. Stretching in bed, I got up. I had stayed the night at Fatima's.
