6. Chapter Six

A few weeks later, I woke up smiling. I had nearly every morning – I mean, I had a boyfriend! My very first actual boyfriend was finally here. I had had my first kiss with him and it was fabulous, everything I had dreamed of. Seb was the cutest, funniest, most caring boy I have ever met. He was coming to walk me to breakfast again, like he had been ever since we were BF and GF, before we had a day out in a nearby wizarding town, Hogsmeade. Still smiling dreamily, I got out of my bed and got myself ready for the day.

“Hey gorgeous,” Sebastian grinned as I stepped out of the common room. Taking his arm I stepped back to look over him, as he did the same to me. He was wearing dark jeans and a blue button-down T-shirt, with his hair combed neatly and his wand tucked into his breast pocket.

I was wearing a pink, frilly dress with low pink heels, carrying a little pink handbag into which I had tucked my wand, purse, phone and some chewing gum. Smiling nervously at each other, we hugged and went down to breakfast. Sitting down at one of the few small tables around the edges of the room, we were served by a gnome, and had pancakes with bacon and eggs.

“Where did you want to go today, Lizzie? You can choose whichever ones you want,” Sebastian suggested. I thought about the shops in Hogsmeade. The Hogsmeade I read about in Harry Potter had a few shops; but that was ages ago – like a hundred years ago. Now, there was Stories of Magic, a bookshop and information centre entirely devoted to Magic and History of Magic; Bookie Base, a bookshop that I loved to spend hours in; Hopping and Happening, a three part shop that had music lessons, a disco and a general music shop; Wands and Wandlore which was a shrine to wands, history and myths; a study nook/library called Yours; a few coffee shops including Thistledown which was run my Rosemary Rosemead, Summer Love that was themed beach and summer, Seasonal which was redecorated according to an occasion or holiday, Nook which was a café-diner and Roses which was a cosy, romantic little place to hide away; and a few clothes shops, selling regular people clothes and robes.

“Maybe we could walk around for a bit first,” I decided. He nodded enthusiastically, and we quickly finished eating, pushing our chairs in and leaving the table. Holding hands, we boarded the wizard bus. I noticed James at the back of the bus; but seeing as there was basically nobody else we turned to each other and leaned in towards each other. I glanced at James, and my heart hardened as I remembered the way he had spoken to me. Seb and I leaned in, softly kissing before I put my arms around his neck and we started kissing a little harder, although still hesitantly and with no tongue. We enjoyed the rest of the bus trip, hugging, kissing and talking the whole way, alternating between the three.

In the village, we walked down Main Street, gazing into shop windows and people watching.

“We should make a list of where we want to go,” I murmured, “So that we don’t forget.”

“Good idea.” He magicked up a notebook and pen and we sat down on a park bench.

“Where do you want to go?”

In Bookie Base, I went straight to my favourite section:  Magical Fiction. Just like normal human teen fiction, this section has a great range of novels that I love to browse through. I picked up a book called The Llama, the Wand and the Warthog and read the back cover. Flicking to the front page, I gravitated towards a seat, and started reading. Twelve chapters later, I heard a little cough, and looked up. Sebastian was standing there, smiling at me.
