"Is it all here?" I questioned raising my eyebrows.
The small man in front of me nodded nervously.
I analyzed the money quickly calculating that it was all there.
Closing the brief case I sent him a nod and exited the premises.
It was early, four am to be exact. I always made my exchanges at times out of the ordinary. While everyone was sleeping I was out putting in that work.
I pulled open the door to my red truck sliding the brief case into the back seat.
I checked my rear view mirrors and every aspect of my surroundings.
Not many cars lined the empty street. Most of the lights that stood on each side where broken or had become dim overtime.
I fastened my seat belt and slowly pulled into the street. Headed to the trap house.
****
The smoke that surrounded me engulfed my lungs. It was thick and slightly blinded me with its intensity.
I made my way past each of the workers. Inspecting each of there stations for mistakes and slip ups.
I could see each worker suck in a breath holding it in until I walked by there station.
The fear that people had for me was at times over barring. I'm not at all heartless I just learned to use my heart less. Not to speak unless spoken to and to listen. When you listen your able to observe more and able to see more. I could tell a lie from the truth. I knew who could be trusted and who couldn't. The way people acted and reacted determined everything.
Before I dropped out of college I majored in psychology and minored in philosophy . I was always thinking about something, always trying to figure something out. The only way I made it to college was off a scholarship for football. I had a full ride.
When I got injured everything changed. I could no longer play, the school no longer needed me. Bills started to pile up and the only way to stay afloat was to go out and do what I knew.
Now here I was so intertwined with this life that their seemed to be no way out.
I pushed myself past the last few of the workers and into the back rooms of the warehouse. I spotted Ace. He held his phone in one hand and his wife he held wrapped up in the other.
Every time I saw them I was amazed at how they complimented each other so well. They had been through so much together, and to see them come out alright gave everyone in the game hope. Ace had many enemies and they would always try to find his weakness. His wife was his weakness, his family was his weakness his feelings were his weakness. He could lose them in the blink of an eye but yet he was willing to risk it all.
I wanted no weaknesses.

Sweat dripped from my brow as I strained to lift my max on the bench press. When I worked out nothing was on my mind. I worked out my frustration, worked out the pain and I worked out ever ounce of the day.
I succeeded in lifting my max, and set the weights down sitting up in place I wiped the small beats of sweat from my brow.
Looking around me I took in the atmosphere. This was my type of place. I loved being around the sweat, the heat and the hard work. Everything was working for one purpose and one purpose alone and that was to gain strength, to improve and to grow in some aspect.
Everyday I came here to feel this adrenaline rush, my heart raced and everything around me disappeared. I couldn't imagine ever being out of shape or not working out. When I'm old and gray I would still be doing this.
Glancing around I noticed someone looking at me. A young lady stood staring at me from across the room. She talked with the manger of the gym but she stared at me. I didn't like when people stared at me. It was disrespectful and showed that they had no common decency.
I cocked my head to the side assessing her. She had a light completion, and her hair was long and blonde. She wore heels that seemed to stretch for miles and her eyes were an unnatural hazel color. From a far she looked odd like she was Barbie doll built.
They made there way over towards me and I stood stuffing my hands into the pockets of my gym shorts. I put on a blank face and stared them both down watching every single move they made.
"Lost, my man!" Richard grinned holding his hand out for greeting. I stared at his hand until he dropped it along with his head.
"This is Gina Florence" he told me hesitantly "She wanted to speak with you."
I glanced at her and then back to him my eyes unblinking.
She held a slight smirk on her face. One that I somehow knew was permanent.
"I wanted to speak with you privately," she spoke up her voice coming out high pitched.
"About?" I questioned roughly.
She looked taken back by my tone but held her composure.
"A job," she said shooting me a mischief smile.
I looked at Richard dismissing him. For a man of such great statue he coward away with fear at any chance he got.
"Go on,"
"Well my father owns a gym in LA. He needs more trainers. I come here sometimes I noticed you," she said with a smirk. "Your great at this stuff."
I stared at her blankly.
"Who's ya old man?" I questioned.
"Romero Carnage," she said proudly.
That name had a ring to it but I couldn't quite remember where I knew it from.
I nodded.
"I need to meet him," I told her "Before I accept any position."
Gina grinned from ear to ear her smile reaching her eyes.
I frowned.
She looked down into her purse and pulled out a card.
"You know where the mega building is downtown right?" she questioned.
I lifted my eyebrows.
"Well be there tomorrow two o'clock."
"Nah make it three." I told her "Ian on yall time, yall on mine."
"Ok."
I looked her up and down once more before taking the card from her palms.
Walking to the back of the facility towards the showers, I knew she was watching me.
I wasn't that type of nigga I couldn't mess with just anything that looked good.
Many girls tried to come at me on a daily. I know i'm easy on the eyes and that I could get whatever I want. But having hoes gets old eventually and messing with different girls every night was never me.
I wanted something that was mine and mine only. Something Real. Something Genuine. Something Unbreakable.
I had only been in one serious relationship. I told myself never again. I still feel the same. It's better to avoid relationships all together then to expose yourself to pain.
First chapter what yall think?
