Jake! Where the heck is the chocolate syrup? I yelled across the room to where my younger brother was sitting at the counter drinking a huge glass of chocolate milk.
He looked guiltily at me. "Sorry bro I used it all." I glared at him then turned back to the fridge to find something to eat.
It was 9:00 in the morning on a thursday. It was the first week of summer and my brother and I were planning on hanging out all day at the house.
Neither of us had girlfriends. Our high school didn't exactly have good looking women. Besides I'm only seventeen and not in any real hurry to get married or anything.
My brother Jake was 16 and he was a lady magnet. He gets love letters in his locker all the time at school. Which wasn't good, I mean the boy doesn't need any more ego growth. To tell you the truth, I'm kind of jealous of Jake, I mean he got all the good looks from our parent's. He got the thick dark brown hair that girls think is so great, he has the green eyes that are mentioned in every love letter written to him, and he apparently is a really good kisser.
Me? Well I have plain blond hair, blue eyes, and thin lips. Oh, and Jake is two inches taller than me. Do you know how humiliating it is to have a younger brother who is taller than you?
Anyway, I eventually gave up on gazing in the fridge when Jake told me I was attracting the penguins.
I plopped down on the barstool next to my brother. "Wanna watch a movie, Ty?" He asked. I shrugged."Sure but I get to pick it out because you used all the chocolate syrup." He looked down at his glass. "Okay" He agreed.
I ran up the stairs; two steps at a time, and headed for the entertainment room. I opened the cupboard that held all of our movies. My eyes strained to see in the dark because I had forgotten to turn on the light when I came in. I stood up and lifted the blinds to the window so I would have some light. When the blind went up I couldn't help but look outside.
There was a moving truck in the driveway of the house that had been for sale for the past three years. "Jake!" I yelled. "Someone finally bought the Clarkson's house!" "What?" I heard him yell back. "Yeah, and I see a girl about our age unloading some boxes!"
Jake must have heard the excitement in my voice. "She's hot?" I swallowed. I took a closer look. The girl seemed to be about 16 or 17 and had brown hair that was pulled into a ponytail. I checked her out. All of a sudden I heard running footsteps coming up the stairs, and Jake was at my side.
He whistled. "Well what are we standing here for?" He asked. "Let's go help the girl unload!" I nodded. "Hey uh, Jake?" He turned around. "Does this uh, what I'm wearing, uh look okay?" I coughed. He smiled wickedly. "You look fine princess. Now let's go show off our muscles."
