The Creeper
As I walked on the double Decca bus, I definitely felt my self get way more excited. Since we are going to an art museum I think everybody should be, but whatever. From what I heard, this place is mostly about the classic arts, and they even have some classic instruments on display. So after hours of traveling by bus, and Liza’s whining, I was tired already. But I decided that today I was going to try and be more cheerful and extra kind to people. As long as everybody at least tried to act like they care about the trip. That’s all I really ask.
They let kids out one bus at a time into the museum. My bus was the first, so when we finally made it to our stop I could only remember bouncing rapidly in my seat. And I was even more so amused by the more irritated Liza sitting next to me. I’m not trying to be mean to her, but she should now realize how it feels to be out of your comfort zone. Then, when we all finally got off of the bus, it felt so great to see the ‘University Art gallery’ sign up. That confirmed that we were definitely not in Manchester anymore.
“Hey, dude! You really don’t have to drag me to the building. I can still walk!” Liza yelled at me as I pulled her by the arm, but I didn’t even realize I was practically running behind an instructor. So I loosened the grip on Liza’s arm but still continued speeding to the entrance.
The outside of the huge building was almost overwhelming, and the gray shining bricks defined the building even more. But when I made it inside the white granite floors almost made my harder to walk fast in my flat shoes. Although that didn’t stop me for looking around and wondering what should I look at first. But I already knew what I wanted to look at.
Mr. Taylor had warned me to slow down and make sure I was near a teacher or staff at all times. But you could say I pretty much lead the way through the place. My first stop was to look at the classical instruments pieces, and they were so extraordinary. I was so used to using the up to date equipment to make music, but when I was surrounded by old fashioned harps, violins and guitars. Which was one of my favorite instruments, but my first was the one I just came across to.
Liza was long gone now to look for our other friends, so I was pretty much on my own. But I wasn’t alone there were still plenty of the average visitors walking around. Though nobody was as close to me than I was to a beautiful wood made piano. Now, this was my favorite instrument. It was just so elegant and made sweet notes and sounds to me.
I slowly put my hand out to touch the old instrument and soon brushed one, two and then a third finger on the top of the piano. But suddenly I had a…different feeling, it was definitely odd. As if someone was watching me.
Oh boy, I hate that feeling, and this person’s stare gave me the shivers. But I didn’t dare look back; instead I looked around at the shiny walls, and items in the gallery. Then I came across a bronze covered Cello that was at least half my size. Then I looked at it for a moment. But as I focused more on what the reflection was showing, and I saw a tall dark figure that must have been standing in the middle of a small crowd. But I could easily see…him, it was a guy! But I was getting a little freaked out, so I averted my gazed toward the piano again. Not long after that I felt a tap on my shoulder that completely scared me.
“Eeep!” I yelped and turned around to see the last person I wanted to see.
“Whoa cowgirl! It’s just the handsome Niall in your presence.” Ugh! I hated when these people in the UK amuse all Americans are country people.
“Jeez, Niall place don’t sneak up on a girl like that, or the next time she will knock ya out.” I warned him but he just gave a dumb looked, apparently he didn’t know much American slang. “Umm. Windsock? Yeah, we’re gonna windsock ya.” I told him.
“Foolishness! No chicks gonna lay their hands on me. Well…it does depend on if she wants to-“
“NIALL!” I nearly yelled at him while looking around praying nobody knew what was going to come out of his potty mouth.
“Okay, okay never mind” He said while chuckling. “But I just wanted to look for you to tell you we all are going upstairs to the history boring crap that’s up there. You know you were like a statue until I touched you, then you turned nutty.” I looked at him daring him to say another word to me, and I think he notice. “But you do look very nice in that dress Ray.” He said that as if it was a surprise. Well, I guess it was because I never where the dresses Liza shops for me. But I did wanted to be as joyful as possible today, and my red baby doll dress expresses that just right.
“Oh, well thank you Niall. And we should hurry up with everyone else.” I smiled a little than we began to walk away from that gorgeous piano. But I made sure to make a few more glances to see the person I think I saw. You know what, Niall may be right I think I’m just nutty and need to calm down on my excitement for now.
