Intro
We were on our way to Aunt Kristie's house when suddenly the car flipped. I saw a huge black hulking creature approach the car. It didn't look human.
As it got closer and I could see it better- That's when I was sure that it wasn't human.
It was a monster.
That was the last thing I remember before I blacked out and woke up in a hospital bed the next morning.
After that day nothing was the same.
Chapter One- One month later
"JADE YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE FOR YOUR FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. GET UP!" Aunt Kristie yelled from the kitchen
After the accident I moved in with my Aunt Kristie who was un-married and kind of crazy, just like my mom. Aunt Kristie lived in a small town somewhere in North Carolina where people took their time driving and everyone knew everyone's business.
When my mom was alive she insisted that I be homeschooled and wear sunglasses at all times. She said that she was "protecting me" and that I would find out why soon enough. Yeah ok, protecting me? More like trying to lock me up for the rest of my life. So I was glad when Aunt Kristie decided to let me try public school, I mean she still made me wear the sunglasses for whatever reason, but at least now I could be with other people my age.
I'm preety sure that the entire neighborhood was up by now. I glanced at my clock and it read 6:00. School started at 9:00. What the hell. I could have gotten like two more hours of sleep and still had plenty of time to get ready. I really hate morning people aka Aunt Kristie. I decided to get up anyways because there was no point in trying to go back to sleep now and I made my way to the shower.
After I was done shampooing, conditioning, and washing my body with my favorite vanilla cinnamon scent I stepped out of the shower and looked in the mirror.
I had a lean curvy body with big boobs, a tiny waist, a large butt, toned legs and I was preety short at 5'1.My long blonde hair cascaded down my back and began to form thick loose curls as it dried.
I had a small heart shaped face with big red full lips, a small button nose with a tiny sprinkle of freckles and high cheekbones, but what stood out the most was my eyes. They glowed like golden orbs and when I got mad it appeared as if fire was dancing in my eyes. No one besides my mom and my Aunt Kristie have ever seen my eyes.
Even with my sunglasses, back in New York I hated going out in public because I drew attention like a magnet. People stared at me with looks of awe and envy.
Now that I'm starting public school today in North Carolina I'm hoping it will be different and I'll go unnoticed but if it isn't, then I guess I'm just going to have to suck it up because I would rather deal with a few hormonal teenagers than be stuck at home all day with Aunt Kristie.
I went through my closet and picked out one of the many outfits I had bought when I lived in New York.
I was starting school halfway into the first quarter since Aunt Kristie wanted to give me more time to "recover" from the accident.
The thing is that I didn't have a single cut or bruise from the accident, but after I told the police that "a giant monster attacked the car and killed my mom'' you can imagine that they didn't exactly think I had my head screwed on straight.
There was also the fact that after they ran blood tests, the results showed that I wasn't exactly all human.
Thank God that at least the sunglasses remained on my eyes before and after the accident.
