Preview of new fic,
He took in a deep breath of the city air and breathed it out slowly, a smile slowly gracing his face. New York: he had made it.
He wandered through the bustle of pedestrian traffic, narrowly dodging the woman in a three-piece suit who was shouting into her blue-tooth piece, about how “Collins should have sent her the article at least three days ago”, and bumping into the man on his right, apologising profusely when he knocked half of the man’s coffee over him. He sighed, his ‘sorrys’ going unheard as the man attempted to dab the coffee stain seeping into his crisp, once-white shirt with the handkerchief that he had provided him, before giving up and throwing the napkin to the floor and storming off.
He reached down and picked up the ruined cloth. It had been a present from his aunt on his 13th birthday, a blue silk square with the initials ‘K.E.H’ embroidered on, representing his name: Kurt Elizabeth Hummel. He held if carefully in his hands, as if his palms could somehow rid the handkerchief of the ugly coffee drops that marked it, before folding it and slipping it into the side pocket of his brown messenger bag. So maybe this day wasn’t looking up so far, but soon enough, he knew the he, Kurt Hummel, would soon be taking New York by storm.
