The Last Dynasty {Complete}

Chapter five

The night is filled with a cold breeze as I lie in my bed my physician Akhmen has given me a herb to calm my worries but it doesn't last long "I can not be crowned without a wife oh Muntu what shall I do?" I mutter...he stares at me "take one of your servants, your majesty" he mutters "there are many beautiful servants here! I'll call them in to relieve your stress" he says leaning to my side..."oh what is the point!" I shout "I'll be stripped from my throne!" I shout angrily.

"No your majesty" Muntu takes my hand "you will not call the Egyptian Servant Naki" he says to a guard at the door the guard nods and charges off down the hall.

I await as Akhmen poured wine into a goblet adding herbs and mixing it...a female servant enters beautiful black hair that travels like rivers down her back and dark eyes she was truly an Egyptian women. Akhmen hands me the goblet filled with herbs I drain my cup and dismiss every one in the room but Naki.

"Good evening your majesty" she bows lowly to me..."come drink with me" I say reaching my hand to her...she walks slowly to join me on my Royal bed...she sits and takes a pitcher from the table nearby..."who do you serve?" I mutter to her "you my lord" she said pouring me a cup of wine..."what is your parentage?" I mutter she stares "my father use to be a priest of Osiris and was a close friend to Cleopatra when I was young and he was killed in a old age by Octavian" she muttered I smile "what if I could tell you that if you are willing to get revenge it will happen" I mutter into her ear she looks towards me "your majesty that's, that's way to much from you" she had a lost for words as stare at her smiling.

"Imhotep" I say and the door of my chamber opens to allow in the young Imhotep "yes your majesty" he bows "go to my treasury and bring the most beautiful collar i have" I say he bows again "yes your majesty" he turns around shutting the door as he departs. I let her take a drink from my cup as woe her with stories of what I will do during my reign and whisper dirty things into her ear...she smiles at every word...Imhotep finally returns...he's holding a wooden box with my official seal stamped on it he bows "your collar" he says he puts it on the table and bows before leaving.

Naki reaches for the box but I stop her by grabbing her wrist "if you want the collar you must convince me you are worthy to be a kings wife" I say smiling and she snickers at my comment "proudly your majesty" she said as I kiss her cheek and pull on her linen dress.

Morning

The sun had arisen into the sky as I sleep in my dead I am awoken by the sound of sandals...Naki lies beside me asleep in a gentle beautiful as if a flower...servants enter my room and wraps me in my robes leaving and sliding on my sandals as I walk into the room containing my bath and slide in...servants take my robe and sandals and begin to wash me...Naki enters " your majesty"she says and I look at her she is in a low bow "join me" I say reaching for her hand...she looks down upon me and undresses before sliding into the bath besides me.

"Dismissed" I say to the servants...they exit after a low bow and I smile at her "my love for you has grown since I first saw you" I say smiling...she smiles at me..."I have loved you since you came to this place chosen by Amun and destined to become Pharaoh" she says kissing my brow.

What such destiny...Neferneb enters with his eyes to his large feet..."your majesty...the high priest of Amun has arrived" he says..."tell him to wait for me...I'll need a moment with your dear future queen and my great Royal wife" I say and he bows "yes your majesty" he bows and leaves the room as quickly as possible.

One Hour later

I sighed as servants wrap a kilt about my waist me a over kilt with a colorful band...And golden sandals were put on my feet...servants wrapped a beautiful linen dress around Naki and braided her beautiful hair and added golden beads...they painted her eyes and rubbed cream into her cheeks and painted her lips...she was amazed to see her own beauty in a mirror...I dismissed my servants and they stepped back bowing "how beautiful you are" I say to her as a servant opens the box and I pull the heavy bead collar from it...I put it around her neck she touched them gentle as I tied it and stepped out from behind her "a true goddess of Egypt you are" I say smiling as I place a vulture headdress upon her head.

I wait until the arrive of the high priest as I listen to the beautiful music played by blind men...I listen closely dancing and humming to the steady beat of the drummer outside...the high priest finally comes dressed in a leopard skin a kilt and a over kilt and perfect golden sandals with two other priests many moons younger then him..."Setiankhamun" he bows to me. "Amunhotep" I said silently..."your side lock will be shaved this fine morning for your crown" he says.

I nod as I am seated on a chair and Amunhotep began to remove my side lock Naki watches silently Amunhotep is slow not to injure me as he slowly cut my long side lock off letting it fall at every cut...finally my side lock had fallen and servants sweep my hair from the floor my chin is shaved ready for my false beard. Amunhotep bows to me "you are ready" he mutters..."you will always be remembered on the lips of history" Amunhotep said smiling "my reign will be the greatest and my dynasty will live on strong"  I say as a priest pours a little water from the Nile upon my head.

"Now the ceremony must begin...the prayer to Amun then the ten day banquet" Amunhotep says smiling..."the sun is bright for this great ceremony...all the cities of Egypt must be given food and wine for every banquet day so we'll need tribute from Kush...do we still have control of them" I say silently...Muntu shakes his head "no we lost control once Cleopatra's reign came to a end your majesty"he says "pity...all my expensive wine will be given to my citizens" I mutter..."We'll have to do a campaign once the ten days of feasting has ended".

"Yes your majesty" General Muntuhotep says...the scribe recording my words sighed and placed his writing tools on the floor. "Have the beer on barges across the land everyone in Egypt most feel my embrace through the food and beer I will give them"I mutter.

Muntuhotep bows and he walks off silently down the hall Naki smiles at me as the priest bowed and walked off silently...we depart and Naki holds my hand as we walk down the hall with a diadem on my head we walk to my golden chariot that waited us...General May and Neferneb again share a chariot...I'm handed my  reins by the stable boy and he takes off down the Royal road.

I snap the reins and we take off down the road as the horses take a slow trot...we ride down the smooth road silently Naki clutched to my arm for balance as we ride down the road in silence as we head for The temple of Karnak. We stop at the great temple...I stop my chariot and I step down...my mother, father and sister pull up behind us...my mother with a face of excitement and Mat with a face of confusion to see with a women she's never seen before.

We walk to the steps thousands of people gathered across the land bow to me as I walk up the limestone steps leaving Naki behind and Muntuhotep and the high priest follow me inside...as we enter the entire temple has been repainted and becomes beautiful...we walk down the wide halls...silent as we walk pass pillars towards a wall of priests towards a heavy golden door the high priest and pharaoh can enter.

As we walk I am bowed too by many...I cross my arms over my chest as I enter the chamber...the priest bow to me in respect and I enter the room filled with incense and candles...I bow to the mini statue of Amun..."hail to Amun" Amunhotep says as he bows "hail to Amun" I say...

The ceremony begins...raising my hands to praise Amun and asking for a peaceful reign in Egypt and children to be the heir to my throne after I am to pass to the next world...Amunhotep holds incense in his hands...finally the ceremony is done...I bow to the shrine and stand as I step out priests are holding the heavy double crown...I walk down the hall pass them and I stop dead center and Amunhotep takes the crown and a priest removes my diadem...and slide the crown of lower and upper upon my head...I walked out of the temple...my head held high and I stand silently...Everyone bowed as they yell my name "All Hail Setiankhamun!" They shout.

"The pharaoh of Egypt!"
