Girl meets High School Deleted Scene

There was a knock on Maya's bedroom window the night after their first school day at Abigail Adams High. Maya had just got home after doing her homework with Riley, so she knew it wasn't her. She walks over to her window, and take the curtain away. To her surprise she comes face to face with Lucas. Maya opens the window for him.

Maya - What are you doing here, Lucas?

Lucas - I just came to see if you were okay.

Maya - I'm not the one you should make sure is okay, and you know it!

Lucas - I'm angry at Riley.

Maya - I get angry at Riley too, but I don't leave.

Lucas - I'm sorry, Maya. I just want to explore high school, and standing in a hole is not gonna help us to get to know this place.

Maya - I know that, and you should be able to, but we should do it as a group, not by ourselves. I agree with you that Riley shouldn't have so much fate in people she doesn't know, but that's who she is. I would be a terrible friend if I didn't let Riley be who she truly is.

Lucas - Thank you, Maya.

Maya - Your welcome, Lucas.

Lucas - Lucas? What happened to Huckleberry?

Maya - He's dead.

Lucas - What about Sundance, Hopalong, Ranger Rick?

Maya - All dead.

Lucas - But why?!? I love when you call me names.

Maya - Lucas, stop whining. Riley doesn't like that I call you names, so I'm not gonna call you names.

Lucas - But I want you to call me names and 'hahurr' me in the face.

Maya - If I am gonna start to call you names and 'hahurr' you in the face, Riley is too.

Lucas - Okay, I get your point. I never want Riley to 'hahurr' me again, it was horrible. But......

Maya - I'll do it one's, and that's it. Okay, Huckleberry?

Lucas - Yay, okay.

She steps closer to Lucas, and they share a smile, before Maya 'Hahurr's him in the face. When she does, Lucas grabs her face like that time at the campfire, except this time he kisses her. Maya is shocked, but melts into the kiss. They kiss for what seems like minutes, until they pull away slowly. Then Maya opens her eyes, Lucas is looking at her.

Maya - Why did you do that?

Lucas - I...I.....um.....I kinda wanted to.

Maya - Oh..

Lucas - Um...I should probably go, it's getting late.

Maya - Yeah, see you at school.

He is half way through the window then he turns around to look at Maya.

Lucas - Please don't tell Riley I kissed you, I don't want to have to kiss her too.

Maya - Okay, sure.

Lucas - Good night, Blonde Beauty.

Maya - Good night, Ranger Rick.
