Chapter 2

Bridget's P.O.V

November 13, 2009

Beep! Beep! Beep!

I woke to the annoying sound of my alarm clock. Annoyed I lazily slammed my hand down on the button to shut it up. At least it's Friday today. I rolled over and tried to get back to sleep.

My mum bustled into the room.

"Come on, Bridge. Wake up!" She said cheerfully opening my curtains, letting the sun into my room. She walked back out the door. Why was she so cheerful today?

It's her birthday! How could I forget? I looked at my clock.

7:30?!

School doesn't start until 9! Oh well. I rolled out of bed landing lightly on my feet. Dragging myself to my bathroom to take a shower. Yeah I have my own bathroom. My parents are kinda rich.

I put my school uniform on. Yes I have to wear a uniform. It sucks! It had a white button down shirt, a red and blue checkered skirt, black school shoes, my red year 6 jacket and a red and blue striped tie.

I grabbed my jacket and my bag and walked downstairs to have breakfast. Riley was already sitting at the table stuffing his face with pancakes, dad was sitting next to him with a coffee and the newspaper, he was most likely reading the sports section.

"Hey sweetie." Mum said as I sat down and she placed a plate of pancakes in front of me.

"Hey mum!" I said. "Thanks." I said as I started to put pancakes into my mouth.

"Bye mum!" I said as I walked out of the house my bag slung over my shoulder, Riley trailing behind me. I walked out to bus that waited out the front of out house.

"See ya, dweeb!" Riley smirked as he walked down to back of the bus to meet his friends. I stuck my tongue out at him like a little kid. I looked around and saw my best friend, Summer, sitting down, her bag next to her, saving my seat. I walked over to her.

"Hey Bridge!" She said when she saw me.

"Hey Sum, how are ya?" I asked as I removed her bag from my spot and sat down, dropping my bag at my feet.

"Good." She replied. "Guess what?" She asked. I looked at her confused.

"What?" I asked knowing it would annoy her. I'm such a good friend.

"You're meant to guess!" She groaned before continuing. "Anyway, my mum said we can do horse riding together. Oh yeah, her mums a horse riding instructor! I love horse riding.

"Yay!" I cheered. "Wait, will it cost anything?" I looked at her. She looked guilty.

"I knew there was something I forgot to ask!" She groaned.

"No problem. Find out tonight and message me." I said. The bus stopped and some more kids got on. We need another bus, I thought. It was really crowded. Kids standing and sitting.

The bus ride lasted what seemed like forever. Finally the bus stopped and we got off. I walked into the school building with Summer.

"So how are you and Ben going?" I asked, laughing at the scowl she gave me. He had been drooling over her for months, but after the incident in fourth grade, she doesn't like him very much.

*Flashback*

I looked at the clock.

7:30.

"Hey guys wanna play truth or dare?" I asked and everyone looked at me, smiling.

"Ok!" Said Summer as she walked over to sit next to me. Slowly everyone formed a circle. Summer sat on my right and Tyson sat on my left, Ben sat next to Tyson. Others in the circle were Luke and his friends, Dylan and Jesse, who sat across the circle from me, and Stephanie and her friends, Jess, April, Emily and Tahlia, who sat on Luke's left and Harry and Liam sat on his right.

"Who wants to go first?" I asked looking around the circle. Luke raised his hand.

"I'll go!" He said eagerly. Good old Luke. Always enthusiastic. He looked around the circle, looking for a victim. He spotted Ben.

"Ben. Truth or dare?" He asked staring at him.

"Dare!" Ben answered confidently. Luke was known for big dares.

"I dare you to kiss the cutest girl in the room." Said Luke and Ben groaned. I looked at Stephanie, who puckered up her lips. Well someone's got an inflated ego. I watched as Ben stood up and walked towards me. Wait, what? I can't be the cutest girl in the room. He walked past me to Summer and bent down. I could see the look on Summer's face. She'd always had a crush on Ben.

He lent down and quickly planted a kiss on her cheek before walking back to his spot and sitting down. Stephanie looked shocked. I looked at Summer who looked as of she was in a dream.

Suddenly she fainted.

*End Flashback*
