"Mummy!" I had screamed, running down the dusty, old stairs from my room. I had expected to be embraced by my beautiful mother, but instead I was greeted by my mother, dead on the floor, with blood going everywhere. I remember the shocked look on her face as I kneeled down beside her stroking her cold, lifeless face. " Mum? Are you ok?" I recall asking. I thought she would she would wake up and play with me, but she never moved, and she never woke up. "Mummy?!" I had cried.
"Aaah!" I yelled coming back to the present away from the horrible flashbacks of my past.
"Psst, Arianna, are you ok? Was it that dream again?" My best friend Lily whispered, looking worried.
"Yeah, but I'm ok?" I whispered back, before looking around the room. A couple of the students were looking at me like I was some sought of freak, while others looked at me worriedly, but no one really knows the truth. They would never know what happened that horrible day, in which my mother was murdered. Their imagination didn't go to that extreme.
'Bing...' Finally schools over, I thought to myself walking out of the tiny, old classroom. Schools overrated, I thought, thinking back to the times when I was the highest in my class, but that was when my mother was alive. I should be happy, my father's still alive and I have a little brother too, but life just feels so empty without Mum.
"Ari! Hey Ari, wait up," A friend of mine, Jerimiah called.
"Don't call me that!" I snapped. Mum had always called me Ari. Only really important people to me had the permission to call me Ari. Why does everything remind me of Mum?!
"Oh.. I am really sorry. I didn't know you didn't like being called that," Jerimiah replied, looking really apologetic, almost like a lost puppy.
"It's ok," I chuckled, "Let's go to the park, yeah?"
"Sorry Arianna I can't. I have loads of homework to do. Don't you have homework?"
"Since have I done my homework?" I replied, now feeling a little guilty. Truth is I didn't see the point after Mum died. There were no longer people to tell me to do it, so I chose it to ignore it.
"That's true. You used to be really good at this stuff. What happened?" Jerimiah asked, cautiously.
"You may find that out one day buddy, but now, go do your homework!" I yelled, charging out of the school gates, like a bull charging through a red flag.
"Thanks Ariana, you're the best!" Jerimiah chuckled, before starting to walk away.
"Hey Jeri?!" I yelled.
"Yeah," Jerimiah replied turning around and walking backwards down the old, concrete path.
"You can all me Ari, if I can call Jericupcake?" I chuckled knowing he wouldn't be able to resist my offer.
"Yay! Ok bye Ari?" He replied, not looking he was going and running in to a pole.
"Maybe I'll have to call you Jericlumsy!" I laughed, before turning around and jogging home. Lily must have left school before I could catch up with her. She probably had lots of homework to do as well.><><><><><>Authors note<><><><><><><
